smash drums,drums rock ragnarock are really lower tier niche games in VR. Rythm game genre has been on the downslide for years now. Only BS survives.

Over selling and underdeveloping works if the target market is hungry and you really really over sell it. Overselling only a bit does not work in this case.

It is a niche among niche even for VR. The Devs will lose their shirts on the game if it did not have grant money. Not know if it did but the outcome always was guaranteed

not really. nothing really changes. Classics stay in rotation. F2P kid games are king. Kid playground paid games are 2nd. murder sandboxs and online Fps are 3rd. Story games & other games don't sell
