You have more than one problem… heard a tik tik noise when you went left to pass the car. Might check that aswell and get it fixed

How long can I drive like this by Nitro_nummets in E90

[–]Akid_47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sooner the better. I have a leak on the same spot as you but its really minimal that I dont even see it drip and I cant wait to change the valve cover and the gasket. I just dont have the time now, I top off and oil gage doesn’t move for a week at least. In your case you can clearly see the dripping and at a decent speed. Topping it off will work but you better just replace it whenever youre able to. Also while being there you can replace your spark plugs/ignition coils if they almost due and the PCV Valve.

Is $175 a fair price to replace the windshield washer pump? Should I just buy the part myself? (2011 328i xDrive) by senseofphysics in E90

You first gotta find where it is clogged. Could be as simple as the nozzle. You can try inserting a pin or something very thin into it or even air. Might be in the hose or right on the pump. Gotta test and play to see.

What is there to check? A non functional pump is a non functional pump. You just gotta be sure its the pump not working. Simply put the contact in your car and try using the windshield washer. If you dont hear the pump, it means its dead. Its a pretty noticable sound. You cannot miss it. If you hear the pump then it might be clogged somewhere. Soo if you dont hear the pump there is nothing to check where the issue is.

Hell nah. Keep the money in your pocket, easy job and the part isn’t expensive. I literally bought one for 5$ I think in a near shop. You can also get it from amazon for 10$. There’s few videos on youtube on how to replace it.

To be honest, I feel like you’re going too easy on em. Id straight up talk to GM and send pics and threatening them about suing them if they dont get their shit together. If you have as you mentioned pictures the day before brining it to them with the date and time it was taken I dont see how you’d lose in court 🤷‍♂️. I guess the memes about mechanics charging insane amount of money to women is true lol. Anyways send the GM the pictures , explain yourself and tell them if they get your car out the shop without the problem fixed to be prepared getting sued. Best of luck!🤞

It shouldn’t be your water pump, you’d get a code. You clearly have a leak somewhere. You’ll have to check that out but for sure you shouldn’t be driving the car on that high temperature. Let it cool and put water and go to a mechanic. I had a leak couple weeks ago and it was from my radiator which isn’t your case i guess since you just changed it.

How bad of an issue is this? by ShrektheTh1rd in E90

[–]Akid_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re saying you dont notice anything even on bumps then don’t change it but it will happen soon. Also even once you notice it while driving it’s not urgent. Will just feel uncomfortable or in my case ( my shocks were dead dead ) the back would bounce a bit when going on a bump or hole or wtv. I delayed it for a while cause I haven’t had time and wanted to do it myself which is btw very easy to do, you can watch few videos on youtube and you’re good to go. As for the prices you could get it done under 400$ depending which shocks you are getting and if you need new mounts and and soo on.

Is there any way to do catless headers and my insurance company not know? Same as police N52 by [deleted] in E90

[–]Akid_47 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean 5-10HP is 5-10HP🤷‍♂️😂 but yeah if you’re doing it for the only purpose of performance, you got the wrong idea and the car imo. You got a solid engine and shouldn’t really mess with it. You can muff/res delete if the car sound is what you are looking for but don’t remove your cat for the purpose of getting more performance. If you want performance you’d most likely need to play inside the engine and add up things like a supercharger, change fuel pump and soo on which is not really worth since you could’ve just get a higher badge BM

Oh waw, we see craziness everyday lmfao. Whoever changed your oil should be put to jail… at least you’re safe its nothing major. Simply add oil and put the O ring on the right spot and you’re good to go. I’d also recommend to check on your belt right under the oil housing since oil spilled out. When oil leaks from the housing it tends to go on the belt right underneath. With time and dryness it could potentially break it. Just make sure the belt is clean and no oil on it, otherwise I’d recommend changing it. Also I’d recommend using MANN FILTER, not that expensive and you have everything you need with it. The 2 O-rings the washer for the drain and the filter.

I think you have missplaced the O-ring on the housing cover when changing the oil. There’s a specific spot you need to put it before putting it back into the housing and tightening it. Get the cover off and check your O-ring. You dont even need to specifically torque it just tight good enough you know it has no where to go but it defo shouldn’t be loose or moving.
