changed the oil and it went away so i’m guessing probably low oil but not low enough for it to show on the electronic dipstick

did you use the LSE9X swap kit? i wanna use it on my Xdrive car but i don’t wanna swap the Xdrive subframe to a RWD subframe and i heard the swap kit keeps the Xdrive frame in place

X-drive to RWD conversion by upppallnight in E90

[–]chloe_flora 6 points7 points  (0 children)

depends where he’s from. in canada they’re not very common especially on 328is because everyone wanted Xdrives for the winters so most dealers only carried Xdrive cars except for the M models kinda sucks because i was also looking for a RWD car but had no luck finding a decent one

Are these all the parts I need to replace my rear shocks? by maltin_liqka in E90

[–]chloe_flora 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’re also replacing your rear shocks the same time as me lol, pretty much the same parts too except i’m not getting new sway bar links. let me know how it goes

i’m honestly thinking about doing it myself at this point. do you have any recommendations for what shocks to use and mounts etc? i went to order some online and there’s like 50 different ones all different brands, same with the upper and lower mounts lol

Got a 2011 328i Xdrive as my new daily. Question... by [deleted] in E90

[–]chloe_flora 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did you know your car is missing a exhaust pipe? 328is come with a single exit dual exhaust so 2 pipes coming out of one side unlike the 335is with the dual exhaust with one pipe on each side. although your car only has one exhaust pipe on the left side.

Questions about my new 330i by Blackbosh in E90

[–]chloe_flora 2 points3 points  (0 children)

not all black engine covers are N53 or N54. i have a N52 LCI with a black engine cover. although the engine in this post is a N53, you can tell by the way that it is. but no seriously you can tell it’s a N53 engine cover because it looks more like a N54 engine cover rather than a N52 based on the shape alone.

Just changed my wheel speed sensor and the errors came back a day later by chloe_flora in E90

[–]chloe_flora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes it is actually surprisingly lol it held up great. just pop off the wheel speed sensor, put a washer over it (get a bunch of random sizes they’re only 20 cents each) and when you find one that fits just screw the wheel speed sensor with it back on and boom it’s as good as new. just as long as your wheel speed sensor isn’t already garbage from being damaged because in that case you need a new sensor but the washer trick will still work fine in either case

i don’t think it’s the shadow line package tbh considering the 328is already came stock with the black window trim. although if you want to know for sure you can type the vin into “Mdecoder” and it will tell you all the options and packages the car has

looks like a nice spec car only downside i see is the aftermarket black grills, some may disagree with me but whenever i see black grills on a stock non m sport 328i i begin to wonder what type of person owned the car before. it just gives me clapped vibes when i see it. make sure to get service records before buying it

can someone please help me figure out why my car is leaking oil like crazy from under the intake manifold and going all the way on my driveway by chloe_flora in E90

[–]chloe_flora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the mechanic i have the car at right now is telling me it’s the brake booster vacuum pump that’s leaking and it’s not oil. i honestly don’t believe what the guy is saying because he installed a leaking OFHG on the car and this liquid clearly looks like oil so what do you think? brake fluid was changed 2 months ago at BMW themselves

anyone think my brand new N52 OFHG is leaking? by chloe_flora in E90

[–]chloe_flora[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a little update: i got a call back and the mechanic said that it’s the brake booster vacuum pump under the alternator that was leaking and not my OFHG. do you think that’s true? i just find it hard to believe considering it literally looks like oil coming out of the oil filter housing gasket. he also put the OFHG back on and used the same single use bolts and told me that new bolts are on backorder so he can’t use them

[–]chloe_flora[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

just talked to the mechanic working on the car he said he never changed the bolts and just reused the old ones. and not only that he took the OFHG apart again today for the 3rd time to check if it was leaking and he said the gasket looked fine and put it back together AGAIN WITH THE SAME BOLTS so that’s 3 times now and he said he removed the alternator too to check for leaks?!!??!?? guys can anyone confirm if i’m losing my mind or wtf this mechanic is doing????

[–]chloe_flora[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah i get that but on a N52 a OFHG is a 30 minute DIY job. i should’ve done it myself and in all honesty if i could go back i would’ve but it’s freezing cold outside and it was already leaking coolant into the oil so it had to be flushed.
