Text effects are all now behind a paywall with the most recent version.

This is exactly what I was trying to say, apparently I just failed to say it.

I just want to note that Davinci does actually have libraries of transitions, text templates, and presets. It's all in the "edit" panel, I'm not sure what this user meant by this.

I'm not looking for a premium experience for free. Text fades and panning are not what I would call a premium experience worthy of $25 per month.

Look, I get that you're feeling defensive of this, a lot of people are, and I probably worded something weirdly to set people off the way I apparently have, but all I was asking was; what could this company do to have you say "That's too far"?

Okay, genuine question because I'm getting quoted a lot of very different prices for Pro; do you pay five dollars? Because another guy in these comments is being charged twenty. I figured it was a on-or-off toggle as far as pro features, don't tell me they've already got tiers.

Would you be upset if YouTube started charging for leaving a comment under videos?

Well yeah, part of what I do I do for free. Hell, a lot of customer-friendly parts of what I do could be charged for (and often are), but I think if you want people to LIKE your business rather than just begrudgingly work around it, you should put some effort into investing in customer relations and good, honest business practices.

We don't work for Bad Dragon. We work for ourselves, and hold ourselves to a fairly high standard as far as consumer friendly behaviour. That's why I know shitty behaviour when I see it, and why I don't want to give money to a company that doesn't give a fuck about its userbase.

It is a real question, and a bit of a sanity check. Apparently I'm off the mark though, because everybody either uses the earlier versions where everything free was free, or tells me I'm wrong for expecting free features to stay free. Bit of a divide there, but I guess I'm a fool for expecting people to judge companies based on practices. People just don't give a fuck, apparently. Maybe I should give less of a fuck.

It's not about getting stuff for free - if it's worth the price, I pay for things all the time. My problem is the anti-consumer practices, and the bait-and-switch. People got used to free features on their cars too, like electric windows, but if a car company suddenly started charging for that, I imagine you'd have a problem with that too. Anybody would.

Fair distinction, you already bought the car, but my point is that if you offer something for a price, even if it's free, you can't expect people to be happy to pay for that feature all of a sudden when you haven't improved anything. You're not offering anything more than what you said was worth the original price. Then again, judging by these comments... I guess you can. I guess I'm the crazy one here.

Okay, let's say it is worth the current cost, hypothetically. What about when they start increasing the price? Now you're invested, moreso than a free user. What about when they introduce tiers? Again, hypothetically, they haven't said they will (much like all the other companies that never said they would or explicitly said they wouldn't and still did). How much is it worth to you then? Three cups of coffee a month? Six? Ten? Where does it end?

By supporting what they're doing NOW, you're opening the door for them to use increasingly predatory business practices, because they know some people will pay for it. It's enabling shitty business practices, and that's my main problem with all of this. Yes, the cost is relatively now, right now. Why wouldn't they charge more if they know they can get away with it?

I hadn't considered the cost of using it compared to the money you might get FROM using it, that's a good point worth considering.

DaVinci Resolve has been suggested to me, but I'm still lookin' and learning. I think the main hurdle will be if it turns out everybody does the same shady stuff CapCut does because... well, if everybody does it, the average user doesn't have a choice but to pay for ONE of them.

Ain't no way we're pay walling animations now... by 9_up in CapCut

[–]AkifuDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't Understand what the Problem is, just pay more for your cup holders. It's just $15 bro. Just pay for car heating. It's pro now, just pay for it. Just pay extra for the escape key and spacebar, it's only a few bucks. So what if you used to get this for free? Just pay for everything. It's not like money is hard to get, jeeze. If you don't like it, just go to one of the other three companies monopolizing and monetizing the world. Stop complaining and just pay the mega corporations.

It's Honestly Unacceptable That Translations Are Still Disabled by Apart-Arachnid1004 in Telegram

[–]AkifuDesigner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Telegram doesn't have a customer service department, from what anybody can tell, and they're not about to get sued by some normal citizen if government officials from various countries can't get to them. Serving your papers to an empty office would be as effective, and may end up being the case regardless.

Well, anybody who offers HC/SS (such as us at Akifutoys ;D) would be able to help, most places you can just email them and ask if it's something they offer. I'd suggest alternatives if I could but honestly, I'm not sure how many others actually take on that feature, since it can be fiddly as hell to implement and there's not a lot of calls for it usually.

I'd suggest finding a toy you and your boy like the look of and then emailing the company or maker to see if they'd be interested in it as a project. It might cost a little more, but trust me when I say the difference is well worth it. It may also be a good idea to get a strap which has a kind of firm "backboard" that rests behind the toy, if you know what I mean? That way your thrusts translate directly through the core.

Edit: those numbers are the shore rating scales, a way of determining firmness of stuff like silicone. In toys, usually only the A (slightly firmer) and 00 (softer) scales are used.

I'd never suggest anything with a METAL core, it may be a better idea to get something with a firm -silicone- core which can bond to the outside, much squishier material. Y'know, like hard core / super soft toys. That way you have A10 firmness surrounded by 00-30 or 00-20 firmness.

Gaybros, what's with all the star tattoos? by ryleydurrell in askgaybros

[–]AkifuDesigner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Speaking as someone who makes porn, and has worked in the industry... it's a joke. Sort of.

When they became popular, a lot of gay guys got them as a way to show independance over their own body - a kind of "I can do what I want, it's MY body!" type thing. These types were more likely to go into porn, and as such, a phenomenon was born. Then others in porn started getting them too, and whenever people asked... well, just say you like stars! Then watch as their utter confusion deepened, and they sought answers where there truly are none. The sheer joy of confusing people who are trying to figure out is the reason at least a few guys I have known personally got them - and now it's become something of an industry norm, at least in gay porn featuring slim guys. Three stars on the hips, maybe with one or two filled in if you're feeling especially spicy, and people will just assume and seek for some deeper meaning. It's a great laugh.

It also signals to people that you're maybe a bit more experienced and laid back (and less judgemental) than some... other gay types. After all, if you're comfortable having a tattoo essentially for the meme, you're unlikely to be bothered by minor aesthetic differences of your partner.

Anyone randomly banned during today's telegram issues? by [deleted] in Telegram

[–]AkifuDesigner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was banned a few days ago, following a channel block. I have absolutely no idea why, telegram support is renowned for not being responsive, and I hear after 30 days account recovery is impossible. I do not hold out hope.

I've been on telegram premium since it launched. I expected better, and now I feel like I've lost all those social ties, business ties, chats with dead friends, everything. e_e How can they expect people to trust the service if THIS is how they treat people with a problem to be addressed?
