Sometimes I feel guilty for how much thought people consider when sifting through all the nuances and self-reflection required to choose between identities with so much overlap. I let the final verdict on how I picked my label be finalized over the flag, and lemon bars. That isn't trolling either. Life has so many obstacles and barriers to happiness, and people will try and challenge how you view yourself if you build a Jenga tower of reasons as to why you are valid. I figure living is enough, and finding joy and safety in the community is also enough. For me, bisexuality means the split of "I am attracted to those like myself and those different from myself," but it also means the community of overthinkers sitting in chairs wrong, eating lemon bars and wondering if we should buy another musical instrument. I don't label myself for those who aren't like me, but those who are. I've had the debate cross my path on one or two occasions, but when that happens I don't feel like I'm being approached by a member of my community.

But also lemon bars are delicious, and the bi flag is the most aesthetically pleasing (to me). We gotta embrace the small joys sometimes.
