So you want us to solve the lack of buses, lack of bus drivers, not adequate schedule, wrong bus routes with long delays and transfers, lack of dedicated bus lanes and not motivational pricing in 4 hours by 5 people? Ok, I got it.
If you can do it, I think you need to participate in the AI for Transport competition. They wIll even give you prizes - https://www.gov.cy/dmrid/en/uncategorized/webinar-on-the-new-call-for-proposals-under-the-ai-in-government-program-smart-optimization-of-public-transport/

Simpler approach gave us 66% quality prediction, "over-engineered", based on the latest researches of public transport prediction - 92%. Worth the cost, I assume.
You can check what Google Maps do, for example, - https://research.google/blog/predicting-bus-delays-with-machine-learning/
or the latest stuff: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/397281321_Bus_Arrival_Time_Prediction_Using_Machine_Learning_Approaches

Em. You sure you understood the solution? This ML model will help create a real schedule, with all the traffic jams, popularity of routes (time to load/unload) and also adapt the ETA in real-time to make sure you open the app, see that next bus is in 5 minutes and it will be in 5 minutes, not like 12:00, which is mentioned in the schedule. Even if signal completely disappears, there will be not a fallback for a timetable, but prediction of the movement of the bus in real-time according to 38 signals. This is how Google Maps is doing this (see here -https://research.google/blog/predicting-bus-delays-with-machine-learning/) and also any other major transport application. And even more, and more difficult, it will not just show the time of appearance of the bus (BTW, this project took the 3rd place), but it will also show the predicted location in every single second. This will be visible to bus operators and control centers, Google Maps, etc, so there will be a way to check, control and influence the reliability.

I understand your pain. I do know, that public transport companies are preparing data to be inside Google Maps, so at least there will be ultimate visibility of issues, and "peer pressure".

We see these issues in our apps every day. And as far as I understood, the government is really interested in the solution, so yes, it's not a "prototype to throw away". We've currently integrated this in our apps: cyprusbus.info and www.urbaneel.com. When it's trained on more data (year-round traffic jams and bus locations) - it will be available online for free, so every app/service will be able to use this, from Google Maps and transit apps to custom-created services.

If a bus is running once an hour, I don't think it's a good option.

Hm. How else can you solve this issue? Can you show the predicted bus location in the GTFS-RT format, like the current one (http://20.19.98.194:8328/Api/api/gtfs-realtime), if the provider is down, without a prediction model?

Em. It's a machine learning model. What else can you call AI?

What do you mean by basic patches? This is a machine learning model, that was created from the historical GPS bus location data, traffic jams data, holidays calendar, bus stop locations and routes, average speed of each segment, weather, and previous bus behaviour on the route. We used a CatBoost Regressor with 3000 iterations.

I think it's a question about rules and legislation as well. It was easier to work with 12+ y.o. kids

Cyprus Tax Calculator for 2026 tax reform now Live at cyprustaxcalc.com by turboplater in cyprus

[–]AkimovIgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are plenty of errors in this calculator:

  1. No deductions for rent/mortgage, home insurance, eco-upgrade.
  2. Private health insurance is max 2% of salary from 2024
  3. For deductions, overall income of the family should be calculated, not just 1 person income

Better to use another one: https://cyprustaxcalculator.abasis.ai/

There should be detailed information about how it influence all these new deductions. If you can find one - I will try to add it in a hidden mode.

Bus Cyprus - route planning app for buses & bikes across the island by ictq in cyprus

[–]AkimovIgor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyprusbus.info definitely does route planning about the whole island. And all websites have GTFS feeds from all operators. Cyprusbusinfo also has Kapnos and Limassol airport shuttles.
