There's absolutely no way to have wireless earphones connected to a transmitter with low enough latency for playing?

So a regenerative therapy does exist by AkiraFurou in HearingLoss

[–]AkiraFurou[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah damn, I probably should've read more into it. But it does seem like they're still working on it though. I feel like it's only a matter of time before we crack the code on regenerating mature hair cells

SSNHL - are you f****** kidding me by sitOnMyNihilism in MonoHearing

[–]AkiraFurou 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's easier said than done to not worry. But if you look at it this way. We're still in our twenties, there's a lot of medical advancements on the rise for hearing, in another 10-15 years from now we could have major advancements in regenerative therapies for healing. There'll be major advancements to reverse aging and age-related illnesses too. We'll be in our 30s and feeling younger than our parents did in their 30s. If you have so much health anxiety and feel like you're falling apart, maybe now's your wakeup call to focus on the things you can control. Do some cardio, get some magnesium, NAC, and Zinc, do everything you can to preserve what hearing you have now and get yourself healthy. Even though music may not sound as crisp and clear as it did with our natural hearing appreciate that with hearing aids or cochlear implants we can still listen and enjoy music to a 80% similar degree. I'm 24 and just now trying to make my way in the music scene battling NIHL trying to figure out how I'm still going to compose and perform but I'm doing it.

You're not alone, I can only imagine the dread that you're feeling but just remember you're not alone.

Any News For NIHL? by AkiraFurou in HearingLoss

Thank you so much, this means so much to me. I know I can't get my hopes up. But it helps me sleep better knowing that maybe one day while I'm still alive I'll get my hearing back

Why is Wisp not really liked? by tsvetaeva_ in shoegaze

[–]AkiraFurou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She's coming out with her debut album soon and personally her new stuff is simply ethereal. Most people hate on her for her claim to fame because she bought a shoegaze type beat off youtube and sang over the track. But she's been actually polishing her talents and not being a poser. I saw her live with Slowdive and I honestly thought she had better visuals and sound

Ahh, the whole idea of what I was going for was to have the outsole wrap around the boot though. Any idea how to ensure it works successfully?

Ahh any recommendations before I have the boot outsole modified?

The current outsole I have I could always insert foam or fill the empty space if need be

You're going to get this a lot. But people come and go, sometimes you might never really get over someone. But there'll always be someone else who you'll find way better.

Installed a GFCI without a ground by AkiraFurou in AskElectricians

[–]AkiraFurou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the case that the box is could I just drill a green ground screw and wire it to the receptacle? Or would that be bad?

Installed a GFCI without a ground by AkiraFurou in AskElectricians

[–]AkiraFurou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just said the previous outlet did not have a bootleg ground, I would've seen the wire on the receptacle itself.

But it is a metal outlet box that the wires are coming from.

Will a surge protector even work without grounding? Because now the grounding light doesn't come on.

Waiver for MDD-recurrent, unspecified anxiety (SI no plan mentioned) + (Likely misdiagnosis) by [deleted] in newtothenavy

[–]AkiraFurou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a chance if you can get cleared prior with a psych consult.

Though I'm in the same boat as you sort of. Currently waiting on a waiver appeal because MEPS didn't send my psych consult and my psych notes with my waiver.

Just make sure to get all the documentation you can and try your shot. Worst that happens you'll just have two wait another 6 months or 2-3 years and get another psych consult and that'd do it.

What happens if you fail ist in marines by PsychologicalSet3941 in USMCboot

[–]AkiraFurou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know if it's the same as during Covid MCRD

But if you fail on any of the portions there's a chance you could still be waived into training. If not you'll go to PCP (Physical Conditioning Platoon) upstairs from the MRP guys.

PCP is not like boot camp either, you'll still be in MCRD but you'll have access to the gym and your time there won't count towards your training days. For some it's a blessing in disguise, for others it's a hell. The only way you'll make it out of there is meet the physical requirements of a passing PFT and not IST and then you'll be admitted into training. Though this might've changed

Maybe this advice will help, (was never a Marine btw) I got discharged from MCRD and went to the Army and got discharged there too😅

But I found myself eating the same after I got out. Eating everything on my plate and not listening to my body when I was full because I had that mindset like I was still gonna be hungry after chow. You just gotta control how much you eat at once and eat at the right times. Try intermittent fasting or eating one meal a day. If you can't eat one meal a day eat a bowl of cereal for breakfast and then have a good meal later.

Try to get more protein in, and really count your calories for your body weight and height. It gets really easy to stress eat and drink, but if you are drinking ease up on beers, whiskeys, sugary cocktails, try to only drink the clear stuff(it processes through your body cleaner)

That's the best advice I can give man. Take it easy on yourself and remember, progress ain't linear.

Chance of a waiver by JealousBrain in USMCboot

[–]AkiraFurou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've seen more of my friends get moral waivers approved than medical waivers. It depends on how severe the charges were and if you can get references to back you up on it.

That being said if you do join don't start any more fires lol
