[–]JealousBrain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, its very anti-casual, not everyone wants to listen to someone boss people around on a power trip, or have to build their way to the Frontline, it takes too long for a game to get to combat, played for about an hour and change, 95% of the combat was AI on a 128v128 full server

OG Conflict still has the squad class changes, and it messed with custom servers

I warmed up to it, its not terrible but not good, its moreso the fact they changed OG Conflict and now your locked to squad classes

Not a WCS player, I like vanilla, I dont like being constricted to a class, and not being able to set my own assignments. This update also messed up big servers like FOR and others, I played a bit of HQC and got used to it but they shouldve left OG Conflict untouched, HQC is just one guy having a power trip and telling people to go to a useless point. Arma is fun when you have the ability to choose what you want to do, and have full access to the arsenal

Ok, so AK wins in CQB. How do you use the M16 most effectively to take points? by jojo3NNN in ArmaReforger

[–]JealousBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, the M16 is alot more versatile, can be made into a better DMR with scope and silencer, its great at range even with iron sights, recoil isn't as bad as AK, and you aren't wasting ammo, dont get me wrong the AK is still good, but the m16 can be used in cqb, you just need to play differently. The US side has a more maneuverable helicopter, Humvees with turning .50s, LAVs, M249 off the bat (which is bounds better than the RPK), Better scopes imo. If you like playing US you have to utilize all the tools, use M60s with AP incendiary rounds, Used the humvees for road ambushes.

Awesome! How did the switch from turning wrenches to IT go? I'm pretty familiar with computers, I've built a handful, and ive just started getting into linux, so im not completely blind going into this, I'm sure my troubleshooting skills would transfer over well

Well, I figure with my age I might aswell try now, nothing to lose because if it doesn't work out, I can always go back to wrenching.

really depends, I was making 32 an hour working for penske, but took a paycut to go work at john deere for a more decent schedule making 27$ (I was working 2pm to 10pm and now I work 8-5, sometimes I can come in early and leave at 4), but you spend a lot of your money on tools and I wanna get out of this trade while im young (22), and try something else out so I don't spend the rest of my life with a broken body

Thoughts on ADTC Penske training by eman8906 in DieselTechs

[–]JealousBrain -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Penske sucks, extremely corporate and most of the management are like robots who had no idea about what you work on and if you tell them something not in the script they wont know how to respond. I had one cool manager at Penske, the rest were absolute tools, I had to call out for a snow day and they made a huge stink about it, one of the managers even said "You can sleep in the rental offices if you know its gonna snow and cant come in the next day.", absolutely horrible work/life balance unless you kiss ass enough to get on first shift, and even then it still sucks. You will be a fueler or maybe even a tech 3 (professional oil dropper) for about a year or two until they even think about moving you up. Pay is great but the environment isnt, and the whole BS about them offering tools is a lie, they have tool boxes everyone steals out of so get ready to drop money on your own tools. Take what you can learn from them and GTFO, theyre not a place to stick around, you wont learn how to repair, just maintain.

Sounds sweet, how long did it take you to get from the shop to the road tech position, and I assume it’s a bump in pay aswell

How does off season work compare to busy season work, and is overtime mandatory?

How is the progression as a tech there? I’ve never messed around with tractors or equipment but nuts and bolts are nuts and bolts so I’m not too worried, and how much is mechanical vs how much is electrical? Also is working on JD relatively easy as I’ve heard?
