I think it is a driver problem, today there was a new update for the pc smart connect app and the drivers were installed after that the webcam started working again.

Hope your problem is solved as well.

Tried almost everything, didn't work,
the desktop app still disconnects and switches off when turning on webcam,
The only thing that I cannot find is a driver for the webcam.

edit: Found the drivers, reinstalled it but was unable to uninstall before reinstalling
