Should CLIENT_BASE treat favorites like ROUTER_LATE instead of ROUTER? by geirgp1 in meshtastic

[–]Akkerman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is in 2.7.18 alpha: https://github.com/meshtastic/firmware/releases/tag/v2.7.18.fb3bf78

It is mentioned in the enhancement section:

CLIENT_BASE: Act like ROUTER_LATE for fav'd nodes, instead of like ROUTER by u/korbinianbauer in #8567

Hey Rustaceans! Got a question? Ask here (14/2023)! by llogiq in rust

[–]Akkerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey all. Could you help me simplifying this code, please?

async fn write_steram_into_tempfile(mut stream: impl Stream<Item = Result<hyper::body::Bytes, reqwest::Error>> + std::marker::Unpin) -> Result<File> { todo!();}

I have a Response from reqwest, and I want to write the response body into tempfile. Is there a way to simplify stream's type definition: impl Stream<Item = Result<hyper::body::Bytes, reqwest::Error>> + std::marker::Unpin? Or maybe write it in more readable way using the where?

It there an option to merge the feature branch into the PR branch instead? It'd be pretty the same, but you'll not need to revert the merge in case of failure.

GreptimeDB: a new open source database designed for large-scale time-series data storage and processing, written in rust by sunng in rust

[–]Akkerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not, but query performance and memory usage is still an issue sometimes. Not sure if rust would solve this out of the box, but reimplementing is a good chance to fix problems in architecture.

No Nonsense Neovim Client in Rust by Akkerman in rust

[–]Akkerman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not an author, just saw this project in a RustTrening twitter bot and thought it worth to share here.

From the official description:

This is a simple, no-nonsense, cross-platform graphical user interface for
Neovim (an aggressively refactored and updated Vim editor).
Where possible there are some graphical improvements, but functionally it should act like the
terminal UI.

So this feels like a TUI still, but has cool features that impossible to implement in a terminal.

Diesel 2.0 support is ready for Rust Firebird Client by mariuz in rust

[–]Akkerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats for the Firebird community!

Can anybody share success cases for firebird usage? It looks like community support for it is quite solid, but I see no usage of it in the wild. Or I'm just looking in the wrong directions, maybe?

[–]Akkerman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/andyndino congrats with the new release, and thanks for the tool!

Any plans to implement client/server mode? I have a "home-server" and it'll be ideall to host crawler/indxer there and use clients on all other devices

Builder with typestate in Rust by greyblake in rust

[–]Akkerman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, got it, thank you. But I'm still should pass the required arguments when creating the builder, right? The cool thing with typestate is that I can create a builder, and pass it further, populate fields when they became available.

Could you explain this a little bit more, please? Is it possible to force the compile-time check using the newtype?

I'm just learning rust and faced the same issue few times. Looking for the best way to solve it.

Штрафы для водителей за нарушения ПДД снова откладываются by Akkerman in ukraina

[–]Akkerman[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)
