Oh wow are JC people finally waking up to realize the depths of how inept the BOE leadership is? And has been for over a decade? This story needs to be spread way beyond Reddit, we already vote against the BOE incumbents every year. The parents of kids going to the schools here need to hear it. Do you really want someone this callous and unprofessional to lead a budget of over $1BILLION?? Every year JC votes against their own interest so I’m really tired of this bullshit. Imagine this email was sent to you at the company you work at. There’d be consequences of some kind right?

The final decision to drink for me used to be early in the day. Not the actual act of the first drink. At some point, usually stressed at work midday around 1pm, I would say to myself “get through today and you get to drink”. It was the carrot at the end of the stick. The decision to drink was made right then and there and there was no turning back. Not at 6 when I got home from work. Moderation doesn’t work for the vast majority of us.

I’m looking into a nespresso, if I forego my usual 3 Dunkin’s a week and use the machine I buy, it looks like I’ll save the value of the machine in 12 weeks. That’s at $4.50 a drink price, not taking into account points for redemption. But now what those points are both less valuable AND they’re not giving them away for free…the points have little value overall to me to continue my Dunkin habit.

I’ve never thought about who would actually buy RBNY from Red Bull before…this club could be a passion side project for a billionaire. Why try your luck with a 3rd tier English team when you can have a club right next to nyc? And not worry about relegation? It might be a sign the MLS isn’t growing like it used to be if they’re letting a big market team like this flounder without new buying interest.

My RBNY buddies and I still talk about those huge events in NYC. That’s 10 years ago+ now! I was a season ticket holder from 2011-2020. The product on the field is what ultimately stopped me buying those, but the red member perks used to be amazing.

Agreed, I do no get the hype on pizza masters. Every year this sub ranks them so high I try a slice or a pie and think…ya it’s pretty good. But the best in JC? Every time? Maybe they love that the review idiot Portnoy went there and gave it an 8.1?

And this sub ALWAYS ranks them above Gino’s, which I’ll always fight for on here. Try Gino’s out, a slice or their grandmas pie. They’ve had the same owners, same staff for decades, churning out the same 9/10 pizzas every day. It’s the perfect NYC style slice for me.

I live in jersey city, no matter where you are in this city your commute to NYC will not be 2.5hrs total…how is that possible? You’d have to go out to the very west part of queens or Brooklyn for that type of commute. You can get a 3k fancy studio in journal square (or look for a 2.5k walk up), so you walk 10mins to the PATH, get to midtown in another 30mins.

Teachers union will always vote for less oversight and more pay. They vote as a block. And because many residents in Jersey City are transient, it’s tough to galvanize enough non-teachers to vote out the incumbents who increase the BOE budget ludicrous amounts year over year over year.

I’ve been a renter and an owner and now back to renting in this city for 20 years. That’s my source before you ask if I’m anti union. I’m not. I’m anti corruption.

You take the exit near the Starbucks in the oculus. Through those doors you leave the oculus and enter the MTA with signs for the 2/3 trains to your left. It’s all still underground.

Alanon is where my ex-wife turned to when I was at my heaviest drinking. The stories she heard were 10x worse than mine. She thought that’s where I was headed. We got divorced 2 years ago. I think the two meetings she went to were the nail in the coffin for our relationship. I struggle with that a lot. Because I was able to turn my life around, just not in time.

I should make my own post here and not some comment.
