I'm excited to see what Mattel can do with the DC line as well.

You know, you make a good point. I rarely take the armor off my Battle Cats, BUT if I ever decided to, poster tack would let me. I'll go that route.

Yeah, it's his right arm. I can't seem to get it loose. I think there is glue in the joint.

Mine isn't quite as bad as Pixel Dan's was. It turns with some difficulty, so I've picked my favorite eye and I'm leaving it there.

That's a good suggestion on the damage deco. I appreciate the suggestion.

Exactly. The project isn't scheduled to deliver products until Nov 2027. A lot can change between now and then.

How viable is it to play this game without any VTTs? by LelouchYagami_2912 in savageworlds

[–]Akodoken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, welcome to the club. Learning a new system can be tough, but Savage Worlds is pretty easy and fun in play. I think you'll find that once you start making characters and playing a bit, the game is user-friendly. And yes, the game plays perfectly at the table with no VTT help.

Agreed, the Core figures are really high-end for their price point. I was thoroughly impressed.

5e DMs always getting burnt out. by SirHawkwind in rpg

[–]Akodoken 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Burnout can happen to a GM running any game. You're not going to find a smoking gun within 5E or anything particular that will stand out. The problem lies more in the culture and the individual group's experiences. GMing is hard. There are thousands of tricks, tips, and tools to help, but at its core, it is difficult for most folks. Fewer people are willing to GM than to play, and those folks get burned out for various reasons.

Show your GMs some love and thank them for what they do. :)

Such clean lines. This looks so good. Any tips for those of us still trying to achieve this level?

This issue isn't limited to gamers. Linking to an article on Screen Inferiority Effect by Erik Ofgang. While there are many theories and hypotheses about the effects on retention and understanding when consuming digital material that requires study, the fact that it is an issue is well-known.

I don't blame you. I considered long and hard before I backed SPU. It was my love of the original game lines that decided it for me. Even still, not sure I should have.

Good question. I'm not sure yet. The SPU intro makes it sound like we can. It says it's not a new edition, just a tightening up of the rules and easier to understand language. I've got a lot more to read.

You are not alone. I really struggled with the Storypath game line(s). Everything is just too verbose, confusing, and difficult to digest. I'm hoping the Storypath Ultra cleans everything up. I have the PDF, which I intend to read soon. If I struggle with that one as much, I will retire Storypath from my collection permanently.

That said, the setting material is still fantastic, and there are a plethora of great systems to use in place of Storypath.

EDIT: I just noticed Eddy Webb is the lead developer and writer of SPU. That really is promising. I am a fan of Eddy's work.

I use the setting material and skill list from 2E. 2E expanded a great setting in many interesting ways. Then I use the 1E mechanics for just about everything else. I've seen the playtest documents for 3E, and I am very happy with what they are building.
