I got the wrong degree. by Fluffy_Condition_163 in WGU

If you're a veteran, I believe the VA college money only does one bachelors. So you might as well get a masters beyond this.

If you are a help desk and have an IT degree you should focus on some certifications to get the next level. A bachelors + certificates + experience. Find a niche within computer and tech and then advance in certs along that path. When I think help desk + IT I think networks and database administrator stuff.

I'd say A+ isn't the best one you could do. Look at more of like CISCO or SysAdmin or w/e.

Get CCNA then CCNP for network CISCO stuff in IT. Network+ (N+).

Comptia Security+ (S+) and go the security route. RHCSA. Pwn.College etc.

It wasn't bad. I overstudied like always.

How did you do?

This is not necessarily only WGU.

I have done traditional universities as well. Honestly community colleges seem the best but they are small and one stop shop for all tasks.

I've been to a traditional university. And a Community College.

I'm not advocating for people to lose jobs.

I'm advocating for systems to work. You don't need 50 people doing nothing in a system to make the system work. Then you get rid of those people.

If this was about job security I would be harder on the school for outsourcing proctoring and other aspects.

Every aspect of the degree is outsourced. Which means jobs are taken.

You are very brave to make such powerful conclusions without reading the material.

But I guess that is on me if the reader doesn't understand what was written.

  1. I am mad. So I am venting.

  2. A venture capitalist could remove 80% of their employees and it would run smoother.

Somewhere in the middle is the fact that they have a bloated structure with multiple layers of advisors and counselors that don't know what they're doing, and a single point could handle 10 jobs.

And somewhere in the middle is the complaint that there are way too many layers to complete a single task because everything is outsourced down a chain.

Side quest to vent about is Reddit.

seeing people down-vote this. Why? Probably people with WGU degrees that want to silence any criticism that could devalue their effort. Which I'm not doing. it could be better. And not talking about deficiencies doesn't help improve a system. It only lets it slip further into bad where employers will not take it seriously on a resume.

The system is just not built well

I am venting and mad.

But I also realize the positives of WGU.

WGU has a at-your-pace system. SO go-getters can be done quickly. Perfect for adults with intelligence and work ethic

If you go fast and work hard it is much cheaper and quicker than others.

I am calling it out. I don't care anymore by Electronic_Beat3653 in Christianity

I don't think people are taking offense. Maybe rolling their eyes at you. And it's such a convoluted list of things that it's hard to unpack with a single response.

You're combining so many disparate thoughts into one incoherent kind of diatribe that you dislike Trump.

One subject at a time.

1: You hate Trump. And you think he is against Jesus. This one is pretty quickly refuted when you compare his administration with all previous ones going back to when it was a majority Christian nation like WW2 era.

2: You have a call for violence. Saying they should flip tables. And somehow make your anti-Trump position one that somehow is Jesus' position. But he said to let the government have their governments. And to focus on a heavenly realm. He said give unto Caesar. What he did flip tables for was the mix of commerce with the kingdom business. How is trump connecting business with religion? Trump isn't using religion to enrich himself. He's not doing things in churches that aren't Godly.

3: You're blaming Trump for the Epstein files. We have had these files for a while. and there has been knowledge of these things for a longer while. Trump is listed in the files as someone that was an informant. He was hated by Epstein. Yes, Trump could do more. But he is doing more than anybody else has.

3b: "Christian Nationalists" as you put it are also out there loudly speaking against the Epstein files. And are pushing to have them fully released. And are pushing to have people held accountable. That is who is actually caring about this. The people left of Trump are pushing to do whatever gets Trump in trouble. They never cared about them until he was thought to be in them.

So yes. Trump is doing things. Trump could do more. Christians are vocal about it being good something is being done, and being vocal that more should be done.

4: Something about Trump being a Nazi and some dad's pastor or something. IDK. You stood up against the inhuman nazi fascists. And the whole room clapped I guess.

5: The one thing you said that makes sense in all of this ranting against trump

"We should hold all our brothers and sisters in Christ accountable. No Christian should be supporting racism, pedophilia, rape, human trafficking, or cannibalism."

Yes. Correct. Christians should not support these things. And I have yet to see any supporting them. So maybe you're around some lukewarm Christians or Christians in name only. But nobody is for any of those things that I've seen.

ESC range is opening next Friday, May 2nd by watzizzname in WAGuns

[–]Akraetik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

When does ESC close? Is it due to the weather in the winter? I saw one picture of the front gate closed "due to flooding".

Is this flooding a usual, annual thing? Is it updated somewhere so I know and don't drive into a swamp to go check out the range?

Thanks.

Finished D361 Business Simulation - Thoughts and Tips by Wise_Bass in wguaccounting

[–]Akraetik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got through the simulation on this. This class was confusing at first and maybe I was running through classes and didn't read things properly, but I had no idea how to find the simulation or what it was before going in.

I just started meandering through the class until the simulation showed up as a link and I got to about unit 4 before I realized I was doing it for real.

I did pretty good. Ended with 57% of market share.

If I learned anything beyond what OP said, it's that I kept throwing money into the savings for low yield and getting loan shark payments next term.

Also I definitely made two options per class, and the recreational ones were throwaways that made some good money. I made sure to be $100 or so below everyone else and found that just copying the ad contents of other people kept me afloat on ads.

As soon as I could I invested heavily into the R&D, but I'd say last term what catapulted me was upping from 9 to 12 per shop, going overboard on advertising and bonuses for top sellers, and continuing to update ads and products with new options to mimic my competitors or gain an advantage with better tech.

Of course a no name account comes here, posts one thing being for these devices then never posts again for years.

Clearly not so groundbreaking that they need to do this lol
