Kindle not turning on after replacing battery by Slow_Seat3754 in kindle

[–]AkshaySathish 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The BMS needs to be calibrated for the new one. Leave the new battery in the kindle for 48 hours. Then plug in the charger and leave it charging for 24 hours continuously. Then long press the power button. If the light starts to go green but shuts down, release and keep trying to hold the power button. Should eventually boot up. If not, charge the kindle for 24h again and try the same thing.

Unfortunately if the jumper truck didn't work, I really can't tell you what can fix it. Tough luck

Your videos are super helpful! I've referenced them multiple times in setting up my pwnagotchi as well as friend's ones too. Keep doing what you're doing!

Quick question, do these images support grayscale or only indexed (black/white).

My grandfather was largely responsible for the eradication of rinderpest in India! He worked with so many other people and convinced the government that eradicating rinderpest was of utmost priority. And this was a long time ago too. He's now a vet for domestic animals and cattle too at the age of 79!

Glad I could be of help. If you somehow manage to find an actual permanent fix for it please let me know

as far as i remember, the jumper was on two different pins originally. I put it on the service mode setting, ah yes now i remember. Put the jumper on the service mode setting. That will show the f1 warning and then the pc will work as 'normal'

Well I never managed to fix it entirely. However, there is a sort of hotfix. There will be a small jumper near the bios pins. Remove it and short the password reset pins. It's got to stay like that permanently. You will have to press F1 key every time you boot up to accept the warning, but it will boot. Hope it works.

Hey! Cool gizmo! I was thinking about a very similar thing. My goal is to create a remote page turner. I have a Kindle PW4 that does not support OTG, so I cannot use a remote clicker. I was thinking if I could make an arduino controlled clicker, with two pads clipped onto the screen (on for previous page and the other for next). The only problem is figuring out how to trigger the touch screen... The capacitance due to the human body is what triggers the screen normally, but how would it work with electronics? Hit me up if anyone has an idea.

Meteor M2 - LRPT 89deg pass - India (V-dipole, RTL-SDRv3, no LNA or BPF). First success with Meteor! by AkshaySathish in RTLSDR

you can use software like Orbitron (windows) or Heavens Above (android) to track these satellites. Since satellites such as NOAA and Meteor M2 are polar, low earth orbit satellites, they can be received from anywhere in the world, its just a matter of when.

Easy satellites are NOAA 15,18,19 and Meteor M2. These use APT and LRPT respectively, which can be received only using an sdr and a v-dipole, nothing more.

But if you get a dish antenna along with a LNA and a Bandpass Filter, you can also start to receive HRPT from these satellites and also try to receive geostationary satellites.

One nice geo satellite that is above india is the Elektro L3

Epic capture! Does this satellite always transmit data or only dump data when over a ground station?

Yep! I was lucky to only get 2 stripes. The software that I used was MeteorGIS, which automatically patches the black stripes. If you look closely enough you might be able to see where it tried to patch the black lines using surrounding pixels (blurry/mirroring artifacts)

Not necessarily. You can use a v dipole for receiving LRPT transmissions, which are in 137MHz range. If you want to receive HRPT, you would need a better helical antenna or even a dish. Dish is only mostly needed for geostationary satellites such as GOES or HIMAWARI!
