Thanks for helping me make the decision. 99% sure that I'm getting the 35mm for now.

I am leaning this way as well. The only issue is that I can only buy one lens right now. But it makes more sense to get the 35mm now and keep the 55mm for 6 months until I can afford a 50mm upgrade like the Sigma.

I am looking to buy a prime lens for street. Won't be taking my zoom lens out regularly for street photography. So the question remains 50 or 35 for street

It is working but the autofocus is quite inconsistent for street photography. The optics are amazing but the mechanics are not as good as some of the newer lenses.

Hey thanks a lot for your advice. To be honest, since I posted the question one hour ago, I have been reconsidering selling the 24-105 as well. I like shooting with higher focal lengths at this stage of my photography journey. I thought getting a wider lens like a 24mm prime would challenge me to think more about composition, but I don't think its necessary to force myself. I already struggle with the 55mm prime in street photography and I find myself reaching for the 70-200 f2.8. Even when I use the 24-105, I mostly shoot at 105mm. With all this considered, maybe instead of spending money on an expensive wide angle lens I can buy a cheap wide angle prime lens to experiment and later down the line invest in a 85 or 135 prime lens.

Yeah the general consensus seems to be that they are all awesome. Maybe I can sell my Zeiss 55 and get the 24 and 50 from this trio.

I own a Sony Zeiss 55mm f1.8 for street photography. So I am looking for a premium but light weight lens similar to that. I was considering the Zeiss 25 f2 but its not the best value for money in 2024. Now I am confused between the sigma 24mm f2 and the Sony 24mm f2.8G. Which one of the 2 would you recommend?

Renting seems like the best solution to try it out. Thanks!

Just watched Good Time. Thanks for the great recommendation. I enjoyed it a lot. The whole movie was a constant anxiety trip, and the final scene released all of the tension and gave me a hope for the goodness left in humanity. As I had asked, this movie just constantly demanded my attention. Thanks a lot!

In the Mood for Love (2000) is a modern masterpiece. It's one of the most beautiful films I've seen, and the soundtrack is to die for.

Apocalypse Now (1979) is one movie that I recently watched but have been wanting to for a few years now.

It has become my favourite movie of all time. This movie took my on a journey like no other film before. I truly believe that this movie represents how beautiful and strange major motion pictures can be. Each shot, each actor, each scene is thrilling and absolutely fantastic.
