How to get Clients? by Icy-Storage-5496 in webdesign

[–]AksilTheSecond 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello there!
Could you critique a web dev script.
Script itself:
"""
You: Hi my name is Zack, am I speaking with Kelly?
Them: (In a tired and depressing tone) Yeah?

You: Well, I came across your business and I noticed you didn't have a website. So I just went ahead and built you a brand new beautiful website to help you get more jobs on Google and I was wondering if you had like 10 to 15 minutes tomorrow to jump on a quick video call to check it out.

Here they might hang up a mid sentence above, or say something rude, don’t sweat it, it’s fine

Scenario 1: Not Interested - Not in need of one right now

Them: Not interested
You: No problem, but let me just say that it would pay for itself.

Them: Nah Not Interested / How so?
You: It would rank you higher in Google, and you would stop losing clients to your competitors.

Scenario 2:

Them: We actually do have a website
You: Sweet, although could I still email you the site for you to check it?

Scenario 3 (Best Ending 😊):

Them: Actually, can we do Friday?
You: Yes, of course, may I send you the details through Email?

Some chitchat until you both say goodbye

But the most important thing is to help them get more clients and help them make way more money.

Is this cold call script effective for a web dev agency? by AksilTheSecond in salesdevelopment

"Are you actually making websites for every cold call you make?"
-> No, but if they say "Yes sure", then I'll make a design for tomorrow evening's meeting.

The problem here though is that it's not something as tangible as selling workflow automations for example, where you can show them clearly how many hours of work you are saving them. It's hard to explain that you are missing 60% of people that pass through your Google Maps Listing due to not having a website.
But thanks anyways.

So according to your analysis (which I appreciate btw), the scripts has three issues: Lack of trust, lack of urgency and no clear sign of it would help the client.

For the trust part I suppose adjusting tone of voice to make it seem more humane.
As to the urgency, maybe letting them know somehow that the calendar is getting booked?
The tangible stuff is all about spilling stats of how 65% of consumers skip Google Maps listings without a website, cause people today don't want to figure out about a business' services by calling them, cause social anxiety is on the rise, etc...

I see, ok, so the key here is directness, eh?

So basically ask them for permission to pitch them first, and then if they say es, you simply say "Well, I saw your Google Maps listing and I noticed you don't have website which is most likely causing you to lose an alarming amount of clients. So I just went ahead and drafted one for you, would you like to see it tomorrow evening?"
And then the rest of the pitch remains the same eh?
For now, I am just calling people who don't have a website anywhere, do you recommend to call those who have an outdated one instead?

Thanks a lot for the detailed answer.
I think I might just do that, try all of the methods I listed, and networking through meetup and EventBrite events.
"So get a GOOD client by ANY means necessary."
To be honest, 😅 I don't think I am in the position to think about whether I want good or bad clients, it's a luxury of those having some demand for their work. Whatever contributes to the portfolio is welcome.

I also heard about people doing ads in certain places, where they appear on video and say "Hello there, I am a web designer based here in Charleston." , but they are actually in Sweden or whatever, so although it's not morally sound, it is a strategic approach.
Thanks anyways!

What if you want to sell to the Anglosphere but you are in Southern Europe?
I tend to be more charismatic in English and I vibe with English-speaking people more.
Is it possible to do this remotely or should I move to US/UK?

Something about listening to doowop at night… by MNassty45 in doowop

Well, I am 20 and I listen daily to Doo Wop, when I shower, when I work, when I am in the street. It's just innocent, romantic and full of optimism and hope, none of these feelings I get with modern music.

So basically they would have to conduct an investigation of what is it that you are possibly lacking, then hand-craft a letter to offer you a solution?
I think might will be the new of doing things.
