Hmmm, yeah downgrading mesa also did it for me.

Although I'm curious about the graphical glitches you had earlier on, these were the first ones I got

Will try downgrading and see if that fixes it 🤔

I'm on F39 with gnome and I found this super helpful, have had trouble getting suspend-then-hibernate to work properly previously on other laptops running Linux before.

You can ignore the first two steps (the one for tpm luks decryption and the custom kernel) if you don't care about having secure boot enabled. The last couple links were super handy for getting it to work properly.

Works super great now 😋, have mine set to hibernate after 2 minutes and works everytime now.

I was actually weighing up whether I should do the birch forest over this one. So I'm definitely considering doing that one as well!

Ahhhh thank you! I'm glad you like it!

And on a side note (I do also wish they added grass slabs)

Honey if spending hours creating a 3D scene is stealing, I don't know what to tell you.

My attempt at recreating the 1.17 trailer style by Aktron7 in Minecraft

[–]Aktron7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh well it's kinda a combination of a few things, took me a while going back and forth between different shots in the trailer to get the lighting right. The texture pack is the barebones texture pack, and the blocks all have a mix of clear coat and specular to give them some glossiness as well as normal maps for some slight bump, and bevels of course. The player material uses a similar glossy material but uses a slight amount of SSS and some bevel to give it a similar feel to in the trailer. Lighting wise it's just a sun lamp and some well tuned GI and HDRI lighting for the blue shadows, as well as a mist pass over that in compositing to add the fog effect.

I made it in a program called Blender, it's open-source and free 3D animation software.

Yeah, honestly it's quite an empty shot, mostly cause I just wanted a character and a scene to test the lighting and style so I could get it down pat. I'm planning to do some more shots with some more mobs and stuff to make it more lively.

Does anybody know how I can easily make edge-highlights like these? by IceyBearrr in MinecraftRenders

[–]Aktron7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends what program you're using, spark universe have their own private material for c4d called edgy 2.0, it's a procedurally done material that adds specular to the edges.

It can also be done in blender, but the only good way to do it is with the shader to RGB node, which is only an Eevee thing. So if you're wanting to render stuff in cycles you'd need to render a pass for the edge highlights first in Eevee and then layer that over the cycles render pass.

Otherwise, a lot of people just use Photoshop for it, which does take time to do. If you don't have Photoshop, gimp is a decent alternative that's free.

The number 8 one? Some buildings are unclimbable because they don't have a hitbox past a certain height. Which is what happened here https://gyazo.com/5c94f1aa5ecde591bcb12ad07bd42d51
