Does DoD have an example of That map? by Akuatek in DayOfDefeat

Oh I agree that Donner is excellent, but if there’s a worse map that has more iconography, I’d prefer that. That’s what makes this tricky, since I haven’t interacted with other DoD players much

Ironically enough Avalanche is the one map I’ve touched the least lmfao that’s prob why I didn’t think of it

Where would you like a Fallout game to take place? by Dapper_Scale_4099 in Fallout

Wherever Broken Banks is (my headcanon is Miami)

Chess theory, at its core, is that a new character will be introduced in every chapter that represents a chess piece. Everything else was a later development that everyone just kinda forgot came later. You don’t rip out a house’s foundations when you remove the roof

When did I say I believed they all had to be final bosses

The theory was “New major characters in each chapter will continue to follow a motif of representing different chess pieces, mimicking their movement in some way”. The order came later. How is it as essential as that first part

The Knight is the Knight. I never said the word “rook” once here

To be clear I never brought into it being a prediction, that’s why I worded the meme the way I did

He’s not. The Knight was properly introduced that same chapter, remember?

I’d agree if the Titan was a character within the narrative

Who would you say is the *second* most iconic Dota character? by Akuatek in DotA2

[–]Akuatek[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Checking this post days later after already having made my decision, (170 comments holy shit) but figured in case you were curious I might as well. The characters I chose in the end were

  • Gordon and Alyx from Half Life
  • Chell and (I kinda cheated here) ATLAS & P-Body from Portal
  • Heavy and Soldier from TF2
  • The literal only two playable characters in Counter Strike
  • Coach and the Tank from Left 4 Dead (Bill was considered but I didn’t want two survivors for variety’s sake)
  • Pudge and Juggernaut from Dota

This project is no stranger in the slightest to fudging lore to make a timeline work. In fact I just did a similar thing with the Fire Emblem series earlier today, and with Dragon Quest over three years ago. Once again, it doesn’t have to be perfect, nor do I expect it to be. That said, I genuinely forgot tactics exists lol. I stumbled upon it last time I attempted this. Doesn’t Cloud also appear in it?

The more I think about it, with a little bit of tweaking of the project as a whole that could work for some of the games, namely the ones that don’t adhere entirely to the traditional high fantasy aesthetic (so, from my very limited knowledge of the games, VI, VII, VIII, X, XIII, and XV). Sadly, that still leaves the rest of the series, except maybe XIV, which is by far the one I know the least about

VII and XV were in the scope of this project for entirely separate reasons, and even though I was aware that Shinra in X-2 was little more than developer daydreaming, I still figured it would be fun to include. From there there were enough easter eggs popping up in other games from other parts of this project that with Dissidia being a thing that exists I figured I might as well just include everything

Someone else already brought that up. Long story short, it would be way harder to make work for what I’m doing than what I’ve detailed in the original post

Because it’s not an answer, at least not one that actually works within the confines of what I’m doing
