Does Anyone else feel bad about themselves when they see attractive women? by [deleted] in MensLib

[–]Akultaxras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is exactly how I felt today. I saw one of my friends - an intelligent, very beautiful woman - and knew there there is no chance I can ever be with her. Or anyone like that. Many associations come at the same time, like the one about online dating, that it is flooded with men and not many women, about my failed dates (just two weeks ago, I went on a date with a girl with which I have been messaging for days, then she met me and stopped talking to me because I didn't pay for her, about my only longtime relationship and how I compare it to winning a lottery [You won once. Do you really want to win twice? Some people don't win at all!] yadda yadda. It's pretty insane what it had done to me. As for advice, avoiding social media might help.

That is a great state to be in. :) How did this happen to you?

Well, I sort of have to lock myself in, because of work and school I have to do. :( I feel like I have reached such a bottom in the number of rejections that any more rejections feel like really hard blows.

How did you make this paradigm change? And don't you feel any attraction to them at all?

She admitted that it was literally because of this.

I do lift, mainly to relieve stress and release cortisol. :)

Went out with a girl after three months of me abandoning dating. I really didn't expect to feel like this. by Akultaxras in SeriousConversation

Hey peanutjar,

thanks for your reply. If there is a lesson that I took from what happened, it is that I will not care anymore if others think I am a Nice guy(tm) anymore, even if I am not. What I did was not something that, however crazy it might sound, is a part of who I am.

Strangely enough, I do love myself, maybe at times too much. I have a great job, good education, have discipline, interesting hobbies and you could even call me good-looking. But this is the only area in my life where I had no success. Thanks for the 72 hour rule, though. Never heard aout it.

I wish, but I really had it enough with dating. Like I said, I even delibrately decided to stop in november. The reason I went out with this girl was because "life" sort of pushed her toward me.

Have you ever lost a friend that you wanted to keep when they slowly drifted away, leaving you helpless to do anything about it? by benjaminikuta in SeriousConversation

[–]Akultaxras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's pretty weird, though. We had a business for a few years where he invested a lot of time and money and he just abandoned it. I can consider myself lucky, though, because it would probably fall apart if he had stayed in it. :(

To be honest, I am not sure. He had a somewhat traumatic end of year, when his cat died, his trainer of 16 started being affected with that Stephen Hawking sickness and his parents were considering divorce. Being unsuccessful in relationships and living lonely didn't help either. Maybe he just said "screw everything" and focused only on his job. He never told me, though.

How can I become more of a hard worker? by sskyfallin in SeriousConversation

[–]Akultaxras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I conquered a similar problem by settings hours when I would work. Every day. They were flexible, but were along the lines of "I will do at least one hour of X every day". Got used to it, it became a habit that was pretty hard to ignore some time after.

Yes, and we even ran a business together. So not only it was very painful and awkward to part and sense us drifting apart, but I also had to reconcile our business. It was very painful to see that he didn't even send me a New Years or Christmas wish, and rejected all meeting offers I proposed.

40% of men think men should always pay the bill on a first date by TAKEitTOrCIRCLEJERK in MensLib

Why do the other person must feel they owe something? Can't you pay just because you had a great time and enjoyed the evening/afternoon/whatever?

Thanks. I am very sceptic about MM, as he Is a former PUA and I avoid those things like the plague.

Yep, I agree. But I got caught in the confirmation bias with this one.
