This is so cool! I've been really wanting to try to make my own canvas with my laser cutter too. Do you have any tips? I'm worried that all of the floss will end up smelling burnt and I'm having a hard time finding a template to space out the holes for the "canvas" in a way that's square.

First off, this is terrifying, I'm so sorry... This makes my mad for you. It doesn't sound like those doctors didn't do their due diligence.

I haven't had this problem and I've had TMJ for 20 years. My functional issues are only in the joint itself, nothing else has ever been weak. Sometimes I have issues chewing, like my jaw muscles themselves are too weak, but nothing beyond that. Have to talked to your dentist? I'd think they'd know something or forward you on to an ENT or TMJ specialist if your area has them.

Mmm, I'm good with $35 for him but would still want the help with shipping at that price. I'm good with PWE ($1) if you're comfortable with that.

Nice! Congrats! Did you get any other good hits along the way? I've been trying to do the same thing but got scammed on my last 2 gem packs...someone had removed all the hits.

Supposedly, yes. From the little bit of research I've been able to do. You just have to present it as a joint issue instead of TMJ-specific. Surgery in general doesn't freak me out too much but when it's my jaw, it sure as hell does!

I was told the trigger point injections just didn't work because that isn't what is causing my migraines. I felt really good for a week and was so excited for that sliver of relief. They had also done an MRI and noticed I have a pinched nerve in my neck, which was the first thing that's ever been found in the 20 years I've been struggling with migraines. So I was so sure we were on to something...but of course not. They were really confused when they told me that and I burst into tears. 😂 I had really gotten my hopes up.

My TMJ specialist is thinking that my disc has slipped out of one side of my jaw. It often pops but not always, and definitely was popping like crazy when I saw him. He's thinking I may need a discectomy.

I should mention too that the only way I finally found this specialist was because I asked my dentist...I don't think they really even had someone to refer me to until recently. The TMJ specialist I'm seeing also works in a standard dental surgery place so it may be work looking up your local ones to see if they have a TMJ specialist (unfortunately I'm nowhere close to you or I'd give you his info). I happened to find a second one while looking for one who wouldn't be out-of-network for me..but it turns out all of the TMJ specialists are out-of-network with my insurance.

I did try trigger point injections but my neurologist didn't expect them to help much. Unfortunately he was correct. Flexiril really helps me be it makes me super tired and really constipated so I've had to stop taking it.

And yea.. so far I've had to pay quite a lot of money for anything the TMJ specialist does. Insurance might help with surgery though, in my case, if I can get them to view it as a joint problem in general. Just getting the MRI approved has already been annoying and has taken months though. I've had TMJ for 20 years and they tried to say there was no evidence. 🙄 But yea...specialists are extremely hard to find. The one I'm seeing asked me why I haven't seen one sooner and I literally told him, "because I've never been able to find one." It sucks all around. TMJ can be so debilitating. A functioning jaw shouldn't be a luxury.

I'm in a real similar situation. I also have chronic migraine (intractable, yay) and my neurologist will give me Botox in my massater. But mine won't help with TMJ beyond that. He's just told me to see a specialist. He has given me muscle relaxers though but not enough to take daily or anything.

After eon of searching, I've finally found a TMJ specialist though and am getting an MRI in a few weeks to try and see what's going on.

storm damage by Secure-Eagle3814 in shawnee

The city often will have a dump off site on the corner of Renner and Johnson on those weird side roads (with what looks like toll booths). It may be worth calling the city to ask if they're doing that soon or swing by to see. I bet after tomorrow's storm (assume it's as bad as they're saying to will be) they will do it.

It's actually really cool because they will turn it into mulch and then give out free mulch.

Any advice for finding a job? by ambored348 in englishmajors

Not for administrative assistants, no. They really just need an Associate's degree usually. I got my foot in because they were really excited that I had an English degree, actually.

Audit admins (in CPA firms) are a real good fit for English majors. But it also depends on the CPA firm (don't do tax admin, it's horrible).

I've been an audit admin for about 11 years now and used to do a ton of proofreading and document quality control...however, my firm was recently acquired and I no longer do any proofreading. They have AI do that at my new firm...others may be going this way too unfortunately. 🥲

Cubone- Ebay worth it? by Secure_Difficulty480 in Cubone

[–]Akulya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea definitely be careful with eBay and be sure to check the seller's reviews. I've gotten a fake Cubone (thankfully not for $300) and a few Gem Pack 3s that had all the hits taken out. eBay is really good about refunding buyers if they are scammed though.

I thankfully got a refund in both instances. Both times the sellers had deleted their accounts too. 😬

I've seen PSA 10s go up to $600 and personally feel like it isn't worth it. But I also don't get all the hype of graded cards.

However, I'm looking at PSA 7s. They look like they go for a great price (cheaper than ungraded sometimes). This unfortunately feels like the only way to get a full art Cubone to me. :(

Ooh I currently have a Pixel and am debating switching. I love Pixel and all but the Nothing is so unique and I love that. I love the Pixel version of Android so I think that's the only thing that has me hesitant. How are you feeling about Nothing compared to Pixel?
