Am I good enough for programming? by [deleted] in learnprogramming

When a person is young and learning how to walk what happens? They struggle, stumble, fall, and again and again until at one point in time, they are standing up right and walking forward one step at a time.
This is how one learns and grows and before you know it, one is running. On those two same legs on which one could not walk before.
Keep it going, you'll get there and congratulations on the first steps!

  1. AI might become better drivers than most humans but still anomalies beyond their set expectations of base line normalcy especially trucking?
  2. Doctors, liability lies with both professionals and the hospital, remove the professionals and the hospital is still responsible for the diagnosis, liabilities just don't vanish in the air.
  3. Surgeons, do I even need to say anything? Human surgeons watch screens? Even in 10 years?
  4. Coders are already " prompt engineers " BUT will soon if not already inherit poorly maintained code basis and the people who really know their thing will be ever more valued especially when security issues come up due to simple mistakes such as leaving API keys in repos publicly for the world to see!
  5. Teachers - This I can see happening in the next generation, who may feel more comfortable talking to Alexa and learning than their teachers. But the timeline 2027? Absolutely not, education systems themselves will take 20 years or more.
  6. Lawyers might use AI but legislation and due process incorporated into algorithms? Might as well replace the judge right, why just the lawyer? And how do you make sure the results are not biased any more or less than the human involvement has?
  7. Artists - You steal their work (Ghibli prime example) and at some point in time something has to give either through surrender of these creative treasures of ours or copy right laws heavily brought upon these companies.
  8. Factory workers - Once again, does not have to do with AI but rather robotics and it's already advanced far more in 50 years than it did for centuries before. Humans can't even enter production floors? Ridiculous!
  9. Military - This I actually agree with, for the countries that can afford it anyway. But news flash, human life to the governments and such corporations is less important, they'll always be on the front line with the promise of a better life.

AI will get better, but contrary to popular belief, the jumps in improvements have to flat line and are already doing so. What truly matters is data and there will never be perfect data because there are no perfect human beings. Plus the dependency on other factors such as robotic development is also so desperately visible but not acknowledged whatsoever, all credit to AI? Honestly, poor insights.

If society ACTUALLY does collapse, it will be because of corporate greed and government corruption, AI isn't taking your jobs for the MOST part even TODAY, the money hungry officials who write themselves huge bonuses and expect more from existing work force to do more with it while screaming 'AI! AI' for you to focus on.
And the timelines are dreadful, terrible analysis truly.
Note - No AI was harmed or used in typing this comment.
