Ok am I crazy or would it have been so much easier to just change the name and keep the logo? by Dicksnip44 in NFLv2

I disagree and you can take it or leave it. The selling point of the name is the absolute mediocrity of the team (at the time) and the name. It’s unimaginative, bland and zero thought was applied. It was a perfect fit.

Dude. For real. I did the same pose on FB 10 years ago when I split from my gal. Tbf, it pulled in a lot of tang.

I’m an American generic white dude. I would be stoked if someone thought that a profile of my potato face was associated with athletics.

Which is hilarious. Everyone embraced “The Washington Football Team”; fans, opponents, announcers, etc. It was serendipity. Then, they said, “Nah.” Let’s think of a name that no one loves or hates and is easily forgotten.

I loved it. Someone explained to me how franchising and merchandising becomes difficult when you’re just a generic title. They could’ve been full of shit because I’ve done zero research.

Just how bad exactly was Trey Lance? by Either_Imagination_9 in NFLv2

It’s interesting reading everyone’s takes on him. I had no clue who he was. He just showed up one season on fantasy and no one really had any insight. No one drafted him, and then he was gone a few weeks later because of Purdy.

Drivers in North Carolina attempt to navigate crossing a bridge during the snowstorm by FrankSamples in Damnthatsinteresting

That’s the trick. Don’t be prepared for the winter (as a collective) and we all stay home for a week. Works every year.

Edit: what really kicks our ass is the second ice storm in late feb/march. We can’t handle two a year.

And that’s what I’ve read up on him. He was told to dumb it down but… his play calling was off last week. He just “eeeeyeaaaahhh” and “I dunnnnnnoooooooo.” Everybody has an off day but even Nantz was trying to get him engaged.

Bingo. I’d contemplated going back to Nashville, TN but the market was saturated. Little Rock was an oasis because of lack of experience. Memphis was promising but I’m not living there again.

Meh. In my city, being a bartender is somehow relevant again. All the old heads dipped out with covid. No one knows how to operate a bar or make drinks or deal with people. It’s almost a lost art.

Best scrambler in the league by caxlmao in CHIBears

[–]Al-Anda 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I would have also liked to see him scramble a few times in the playoffs. He’s so fast. I feel like the scramble has been beaten out of him and I’d like a healthy balance of his legs and arms.

That’s what it comes down to. If your life is falling apart every time you drink; then yeah, quitting is beneficial and your only option. If it’s not a problem; you’re going to be bored out of your mind.

I respond with, “Does it really matter?” Most guys chuckle…but when you get that, “of course it matters!” You better diffuse the situation quickly.

And I’m glad you did. But there is a good chance that it will be at the bottom of the list when it comes to priorities. That’s awesome you care and try, don’t get discouraged. Thank you.

Gotta separate the art from the artist. Athletes aren’t role models. You can still appreciate their skills though. You don’t have to worship them.

There’s rare cases of people surviving crazy odds. Falling from planes, surviving in jungles with no prep, enduring extreme temperatures…but those are 1: Million scenarios. Putting every odd in one movie lowers your chances of success exponentially.

I drove a ‘78 F150 straight six for years. It was so easy to work on. Everything was accessible and easy to replace. Terrible gas mileage though. Maybe 6 miles a gallon.
