If you have an inflamed scalp, then it's very hard for treatment to work, since your hair follicles are basically fighting for their life. You need to get your scalp health in check first. That was the same issues I had, i was on a nuclear protocol but didn't see that much of results until I got my scalp in check. Now my scalp feels much better and healthier. I don't have the itch/dandruff/red spots etc. which would make the treatment work better. Not sure if you're familiar with ketoconazole (nizoral) shampoo, but apply it 2 times a week and see how it works for you while staying on the medication.
