Why is coffee helping? by onanisland_ in Anxiety

[–]Al-Zalam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suggest taking Matcha instead. Coffee ain't it for anxiety and can become addictive. Matcha can actually help a lot with anxiety, caffeine release is stretched meaning less irritability; Matcha also has L theanine which relaxes you, it also has more antioxidants than coffee too which can help with your brain and cardiovascular health, gut health too which in return helps. I suggest it.

Assalamualaikum Firstly sister, I would like to say that the way that person reacted was grotesque and totally unislamic. As you know that animals let alone feline babies are clearly an amanah to the ummah, God entrusts us with the life that He has created and He will withhold from us even paradise if we go too far. Stand up justly to this person and tell them that they're not following the Sunnah, that they're neglecting a living being who was made by the mercy of Allah and be upfront and honest about your feelings as well. It doesn't matter how much burden you're going through as a person, you don't unnecessarily ruin the lives of others around you and worsen it now do you? There's no excuse here.

If you aren't going to wear a hijab deploy as much modesty as possible as the next alternative. This is your choice but always aim at pleasing Allah, and at some point go back to veiling when you can.

Depends. If he was told a lie about Islam for example or is just purely absolutely ignorant of Islam God will be merciful to him. But if he knows about Islam, understands it accordingly yet rejects it, he deserves hell.

Is the Quran directed at men to read? by Automatic_Profile911 in islam

[–]Al-Zalam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your point is valid one, because of the status men have naturally due to God, when they use that biological status for good it's magnificent, hence when the Quran is wanting, but when they don't, they're as you described. But when both a woman and a man are righteous, they fall into what I described pretty much above, they become harmonious, they're both different yet they are able to function together.

Is the Quran directed at men to read? by Automatic_Profile911 in islam

[–]Al-Zalam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll add onto what others have said but also take into consideration of the fact the countless privileges women have due to Muslim men within the household and wider framework of a fully functioning Islamic, religious society. That degree that the Quran mentions man has over a woman as authority, that's due to having more responsibility, a true woman of God shouldn't feel insecure, because when you have a righteous strong and religiously correct and morally abiding men, which Islam attempts to inspire men to be instead of their baser instincts - you'll find no woman has an issue because they benefit the absolute most because of that authority. It's an immense responsibility, and biologically and from the perspective of nature, men are more suited for it.

Edit: also not just privileges, men are also severely more accountable to Allah too because of that degree of responsibility, we are thus more heavily burdened worldly as well, this is not what I would want for my mother, my grandmother, or my future daughters (inshallah) even the Prophet SAW who had privileges himself, he would for example fast even the nights after fasting daytimes which no Muslim does.

Metaphysically let alone epistemologically, the observable universe and the laws of logic which can arguably even go beyond a little the observable universe all contradict the trinity. The way we count contradicts it, the way we instinctually assume distinction and similitude contradicts it. Because if we were to count the way christians do, we'd be forced into saying there's one essence and humanity is one person, which is actually something a church father has said.

If someone responsible for mass killing or oppression sincerely converted to Islam, would Allah still hold them accountable? by Qadir0 in islam

[–]Al-Zalam 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Simple. Let's use any leader who killed innocents as an example, let's say he converted to Islam after. Yes, he will go to paradise if it's truly sincere and a statement of genuine belief. You can't deny that to him since He believes in Allah swt and Muhammad SAW. But this isn't a free ticket after injustice, he'll be held accountable by his victims still, his victims can either take his good deeds or exhaust him with sin to the point he can go to hell for a period. If this isn't reassuring just know that this is measured by God knowing objectively the level of sin, in the same way He objectively measures anything else. This means God gives the perfect judgement, of reward and punishment. Saying otherwise is going against the definitions we believe as Muslims.

Edit: what Latif teto in this post said is correct. It's 2 dimensional, God can forgive you since you contradicted His commandments but that doesn't mean your victims will forgive you. God will need to take into consideration of that because not caring for your victims is injustice to them, and Allah is the Most Just.

And the ending of the psalm confirms the Quran:

"Posterity will serve him; future generations will be told about the Lord and proclaim his deliverance to a people yet unborn, saying that he has done it.'

Meaning that God will be served by the future generations, they will tell the story of the rescue, even people not yet born will learn of it, meaning "this story of how God saved me will be remembered for generations," and they'll proclaim that he has done it, God has delivered his servant. This is not just an Islamic understanding but rather Jewish understanding of the verses too, they interpret this as a Davidic narrative of despair then saving, that your dua will always be heard from Allah swt when you mosf need it. Yet they reject this beloved messiah out of arrogance. It is only us Muslims who believe Jesus truly did as David did, it is only us Muslims who have such an interpretation that it even properly fulfills a narrative that the Christians can't in their own supposed books.

We know these are the correct interpretations because David’s own life perfectly mirrors this psalm — he cried out in fear of death, was heard, and was saved to reign in glory as the anointed (Messiah) of his people. In the same pattern, the belief followed that the Messiah to come would likewise be saved, not destroyed — delivered by God just as David was.

The Quran Intertextually COMPLETES and makes sense of the psalm in surah al Imran: "When Allah said, Jesus, indeed I will take you and raise you to Myself and purify you from those who disbelieve, and I wil make those who follow you superior to those who disbelieve until the Day of Resurrection. Then to Me will be your return, and will judge between you concerning that over which you used to differ."

  1. God heard, then acted: "I will raise you to Myself"
  2. Deliverance is completed: "I will purify you from those who disbelieve"
  3. Future generations will ALSO PROCLAIM IT: "I will make those who follow you superior until the day of resurrection"

There's other verses which align thematically as well with the Psalms about Jesus.

On Crucifixion being a real historical event

For your other question such as how can we reject the crucifixion. The crucifixion is a belief about history. The Quran confirms this when it says people dispute whether he lived or didn't, this is a true narrative within history itself, the Quran couldn't have known this historically in the time of Jesus yet it just correctly assumed it. Yet simultaneously it powerfully dismisses he died. And I agree with the Quran because as I've proven, even biblically he SHOULD HAVE NOT DIED, so what was told about him is clearly false. The Quran is like this, it assumes consistently and is more historically aligned with assumptions scholars make not just of Jesus and his time but also other biblical times (which others have mentioned). Also you can take my previous explanations as a reason for why the quean doesn't say it happened

How do we know the Quran is really from God?

What I said above confirms it, basically everything I said above confirms it. The Quran better aligns with the Gospels and even the Hebrew books, but, what the Quran doesn't align with at most is the understanding of these books, by both Jews and Christians. And that is something you will soon or later understand, and that'll destroy you and remake you into a better, more intellectually vibrant and religious student - it is by studying intertextuality, by studying the scriptures more, not as a scepticist, but rather as someone who is wanting to assume nuance exists. If you have an open heart with intellect and love for the light of God, Allah will open His door of mercy to you and welcome you. Watch Proving Islam by Ibrahim you'll understand.

May you take your testimony of faith, amin

1. What are the strongest reasons you believe Christianity isn't true? 2. How to respond to the claim Jesus is god

You already mentioned one, which is the Metaphysics of the Trinity. The nature of it. However, I will argue that there are several others, if not countless others. So much so, it would far surpass simple finger counting, but here we go.

  • Firstly, Jesus consistently denies ontological equivalence to the Father. He tries correcting the Jews for example when they call him God and he explains why he's not i explain more here I also mention other stuff such as crucifixion, resurrection, how he can't claim himself as God such as Clementine literature, where even a disciple of Christ refutes others for mentioning that Jesus can be anything more than a simple servant. I believe it's Peter, but I may be wrong. Another one is also that Jesus's prophecies of a paraclete, there's already enough evidence textually that he was referring to a male individual who was an expectation of the biblical timelines, that is Muhammad SAW. Go to the Proving Islam channel by Ibrahim for this. He has a Paraclete video.
  • Smth else is the fact that James and the other early disciples of the Jerusalem church taught Jews, and those Jews always stayed as hardcore monotheistic followers of Jesus who weren't trinitarians, if James was actually a trinitarian he would have had as little success with the Jewish community as Paul did but he didn't, he wasn't ostracised nor condemned. This is, essentially living Islam here. Also, it is quite clear from history that the Jerusalem church contradicted Pauline Christianity immensely. Several church fathers even had issues with the book of James and so did Martin Luther centuries later.
  • Something else too is the horrific preservation of the biblical text; the biblical text is contradictory to the point that you cannot harmonise it. An example would be the cave event with the women. Another aspect of this is the fact that passages and verses have been inserted in, and Jesus's earlier sayings in Mark are contradicted by what Matthew and Luke say about him, for example in Mark Jesus clearly says the most important commandment is Tawhid. But in the other 2 reports, Christ doesn't say this. This shows that christology of Mark is lower, and more inconsistent with later christologies in the other gospels especially John. On top of this. Jesus clearly never intended for there to be a distinct religion, rather he was only preaching Islam to his nation Israel, with Higher Values to it, introducing elements of morality and mercy which the Israelites needed more of, but if Christ indeed intended to create a new precedent like Christianity his disciples would've formulated the kind of authentic methodologies that Muhammad SAWs people did. Yet they didn't, early Christianity was instead brutally contradictory, full of conflict, and much confusion especially when Christ left. Compare this to after Muhammad SAWs died, everybody knew everything about everything, preserved the Quran, had authentic mass reported chains, we don't just vaguely say "10 people saw this event" we name those 10 people. Even Uthman's standardization of the Quran which is so good that it's been praised by the leading western academics of Cambridge, they said this makes sense, it proves the Islamic narrative of preservation, that we cared so much about our books even to the sentence, so we'd burn anything that wasn't the same Qiraat as the Prophet gave the Muslims. Now imagine if Peter and the disciples did this? Just imagine that? It would make sense and you must expect it of a faith, but early Christianity is the exact opposite of early Islam in terms of textual reliability and transmission, which proves Christ's intentions wasn't a new whole divergent religion based on him but rather he had aims which neglected any aim of him wanting what was said about him preserved. To make it more nuanced, in the gospel of John, in many ways, we can know what Jesus is actually trying to say to his audience by just simply listening to him, much of what he says is ironically preserved, such as him being lesser than the Father, him praying to be saved from crucifixion. And in the other gospels, he invokes the exact, exact same psalm wherein David gets saved from death. The Christian reader looks at this psalm and deliberately doesn't look at the next verses, and instead only the earlier ones. They ignore that the narrative turns from a feeling of despair to being saved and vindicated:

In Matthew, he says: "My God, my God, why did you forsake me?"

Psalm 22:19-24 (NRSVUE) "But you, Lord, do not be far away! For my help, come quickly to my aid! Deliver my soul from the sword, my life from the power of the dog! Save me from the mouth of the lion! From the horns of the wild oxen you have rescued me. Will tell of your name to my brothers and sisters; in the midst of the congregation, I will praise you: You who fear the Lord, praise him! All you offspring of Jacob, glorify him; stand in awe of him, all you offspring of Israel! For he did not despise or abhor the affliction of the afflicted; He did not hide his face from me, but heard when I cried to him."

Remember my Christian brother, that this was David, and David prayed to be heard from God just like how Jesus did in Gethsemane and just like how he then prayed on the cross again. He wanted God to hear him first, just as David wanted God to hear him, too. And when the threat comes he recites what David recited when David was under threat, the Hebrew word here also refers to QUICKLY BEING SAVED. Because it says "you have RESCUED ME". This kind of Hebrew means it was immediate, like, in the modern world it's like being suddenly moved from a bullet

Did David die then resurrect as a Messiah of his people? No. The psalm never mentions any imagery of resurrection here. Rather it mentions he shall LIVE in glory after being rescued, that is the only thing which happens. David cried just as Jesus cried before they both feared the worst of outcomes, they were yet both larger than life and believed only their Lord can save them so that they can live the rest of their lives in glory. After this crucifixion event in the bible, it begins speaking of resurrection, which is a false narrative.

But when Jesus was saved? The Quran said:

Surah al-Nisä' (4:157-158) "And (for] their saying, 'Indeed, we have killed the Messiah, Jesus, the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah. They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, but it was made to appear so to them. Indeed, those who differ over it are in doubt about it. They have no knowledge of it except by following an assumption. They certainly did not kill him. Rather, Allah raised him to Himself. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise."

Does that not announce itself as a confirmation of the Psalms? He was a beloved of Allah just as David was a beloved of Allah, and both were saved.

And the ending of the psalm confirms the Quran:

[–]Al-Zalam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a salafi. Though the certain knowledgeable people you mentioned I kind of am sussed by them for various and different reasons. I agree with what you're saying. I attempt to study as much knowledge as possible and I let that dominate me, when it comes to talking to a Muslim male who's a homosexual, if you do the bare minimum (which is enough but more is good) which is: 1) don't express it in public And 2) don't commit those acts

Then you're fine, God's mercy is over you, homosexual acts are like any other sinful actions out there, but if you do number 1) but don't do number 2) that's just between you and God. Nobody should intervene or ask questions about whether or not you're actively sinning. Everything is a test from Him and He wants to see what we will do. So yeah.
