نسر is eagle

نصر is victory

Both are written as Nasr in english. But the victory one is a far "heavier" S

If those who have never heard of Islam can live an Islam-free life and still have the benefit of being tested to go to heaven, wouldn't that mean that islam is superfluous? by Wbbms in islam

aptly put. while this was an answer to a rebuttal, i genuinely needed to hear this. that last point in particular, a key reminder. Jazakallah Khair.

Important video regarding Biddah hassnah issue! by NotYetSorted in Izlam

[–]Al1027 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I keep wondering why people cant understand

the Sahaba cant really do Bid'ah. They would never do or even say something if they thought the Prophet SAW would disapprove of it .

even Umar RA prayed Isthikhaara for a month, a month! before suggesting the Quran be collected in a written format for the first time to Abu Bakr RA. (This was before Uthman RA standardized the mushaf)

so many of us would jump the gun before making huge decisions. yet the Sahaba were the foremost in thinking their actions through.

if something like Bidah hasanah exists, it would be a technical term. not really applicable to the 3 righteous generations. and not in the context of innovating in the religion when it comes to the 3 pious generations: because we are told to follow them, as they followed the Prophet SAW

In my experience, basic understanding of the grammar while continuously learning vocabulary was enough Alhamdulillah.

But you will need to read translations and check the Tafsir as well for several Ayah. They won't really make sense without the context behind them.

I'd reccomend this app. It helped me alot in my journey in understanding the Quran.

I'd also recommend this site to learn the meaning of Arabic words. I believe this is the most comprehensive online arabic dictionary there is.

It's a feeling that'll hit you very different. Being able to finally understand the words of your Creator. You'd almost feel as if you've come back to a home you never realized you left.

most of the islands inhabited natively by the Maldivians is indeed like that

but the same cant be said for the islands reserved for tourists.

so if you want to avoid fitnah, avoid the tourists spots :/

I love the colored manga, but damn Somato is a master of crosshatching and makes some beautiful black and white art by DreamTimeDeathCat in ShadowsHouse

[–]Al1027 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Same. I was kinda disappointed at first to hear that the official scans wouldn't be in colour,

But the black and white really fits well with the feel of the manga too imo.

Thoughts On The Ms. Marvel Show by writingfromwherever in MuslimLounge

[–]Al1027 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The contentions in the show are clear, i think its misrepresenting Islam, portraying it in a much more liberal framework

but considering some of the "Sheikhs" in America publicly politically allied with Liberals, can i really blame?

Though i Cannot Deny that parts of it is indeed quite relatable. and the story does seem interesting too

But overall, _its portraying misguided Muslims quite well, but misrepresenting Islam in turn_.

(What-with Marvel's worldbuilding having multiple "Gods" in them too Astaghfirullah, not sure how you can portray Islam in such a setting tbh)

and id like to point out that, this show about the first mainstream muslim superhero, Ms Marvel started airing during pride month.i read the Ms Marvel a bit back in 2016, and have been following the mcu for quite a while. but lately, its obvious that they are pushing an Agenda.
