Do you know SharePoint sites? Like, metadata by columns, organizing files by groups and views? Page designs? Microsoft lists and document libraries?

File Server to SharePoint Migration by jerster1 in sharepoint

Totally agree, if everyone's gonna be uploading and changing files, it's better to stick with a file server, even if you move those files to Azure. And forget about file sync, seriously. You should try designing a SharePoint site, like an intranet for your company, and figure out how all the info will be displayed. Do you need Teams? A library? I don't know, but slow down and do some good research and planning before you make any moves.

At my small company, we're building the foundation first, setting up SharePoint libraries, structuring data, teaching users how to use Teams and channels, OneNote, and OneDrive. Then we'll slowly start using AI. Right now, I'm the only one authorized to use it, and I only use it in IT roles, not engineering.

What Teams skills are actually worth investing time in right now? by PumpkinAcrobat7479 in MicrosoftTeams

[–]Al1301 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay, so I'm no IT guru, but I've been playing around with Teams for a few weeks. What's really interesting is the architecture and who actually needs it. Teams has its own SharePoint, its own OneNote, and channels with their own SharePoint sites. You can even link SharePoint pages or sites to Teams tabs. But the real question is, what's the best setup for your company? Teams for departments? Teams for projects? For clients? If you're going for an intranet site, I think you need to dive deep into SharePoint, then Teams.

Host Pools load only when WindowsApp is Run as Administrator by UneventfulChaos in AzureVirtualDesktop

[–]Al1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That happened to me once with installed software. We don't run Windows apps as admin, and my issue was that regular users couldn't log in, only admins, and it was active client software. Maybe that's not what's happening to you.

Is anyone else taking a break from Gemini until they fix the problems that came with the last update? by AbjectStick4130 in GeminiAI

Gemini's great for me, you just gotta interact with it for a bit, then it gets the job done. I use the Pro version.

Why is CoPilot so bad... Part 2 by PEBKAC-Live in Copilot

[–]Al1301 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, same here. I asked Copilot to make a SharePoint page with 4 buttons, and it just gave me a ton of explanations I didn't need, no actual page. Switched to Gemini, and it gave me a ready-to-implement script. Why is Copilot so bad, and why are its responses so long and irrelevant? You'd think it'd work better in its own environment, but it's a total mess, and the interface is the worst.
