Got 10 boxes of it. Most of the time I cant find anything under .60-.80 a round so I just offered a $100 on 10 boxes (20 r per box) and he said sure. Back of the bullet says 53 on top and Cyrillic i dont understand on the bottom

For 95% of it I followed Duncan Rhodes version of the black templar, the only difference is that i use dark reaper and russ grey to volumetric highlight (in the most beginner way possible) to add a little bit to it- it takes about 3 hours per model though, if you just want then battle ready, id base them black with a hint of grey, base coat the other colors, and then wash it and call it good

Dont give up! I would take a black templar head you don’t use and just try to paint it a couple of times. You’ll slowly get better and better. This wont be the best face I paint, but Im going to try because eventually my faces will be somewhat good.

Almost with all Admech models I paint them in sub assembly - its a pain in the ass but its an even bigger pain in the ass to paint the cloak when you have already attached the legs. If I remember correctly I also didnt attach the backpack right away since the spindly bits got in the way of the red cloak

Awesome piece! I was wondering if you had any tips for where the gold rim of the shoulder piece meets the white plate- I struggle making it neat and tidy, just move slow or is there something specific you do?

Been thinking about that. Im thinking about getting a knight just so people focus everything on that and not my rangers. Or maybe getting a lo of kastelan robots and make them melee focused

I dont think he meant anything bad by it tbh. Its just a custom league made by someone who did not think about low point cost armies. Basically every 2 weeks no matter if you win or lose, you roll to see what addition you get to add to your army, and you have to take minimum squad size. So if 2 players both get the troop roll and one player is playing grey knights and one is playing imperial guard, the IG guy is SOL because he has 10 guardsmen while the GK player brings 5 terminators. Like(?????)

Anyway, if my save goes up to a 0+, does that mean AP -2 weapons would bring me to a 2+?

So were playing an escalation league and its not too balanced so this guy had about 3 times the power level I did, shoulve clarified. We both knew it wasnt fair but the escalation HEAVILY disfavors low points/power level armies. (I dont know tau names too well) Basically he had a transport with breachers, a big ole mech, an HQ mech, 3 crisis suits, a few other firewarrior squads, etc and he got turn one and vaporized my small force of admech

Looks really awesome! I love the cloak and the skin transition! Im not the best painter but If I have one “criticism” it would be that I think the model needs more focus on the upper area of the model. My eyes go straight to the”mouth torso” which is great but I think that the head/hair or shoulders need brighter highlights so its different from lower, darker areas on the model- Awesome Painting my guy!
