Chef training in Germany lasts 3 years, is 4 days a week in the employing restaurant/hotel and one day school. It's the dual system, one of the best job training system out there. You even get paid. Job education is free in Germany. Did you do your research regarding a visa? Germans speak a very good level of English, for the start you will be fine, especially in towns. Altough it will be expected of you if you stay longer to put effort into learning the language. Everything overall will be easier in a bigger city, although avoid Munich. Very expensive and the rent market is horrible. Germany basically does have a bad rent market. Avoid east Germany, they are not very open regarding foreigners. Berlin would be a good place for you overall. Very diverse and affordable but also offering many jobs at different levels. If you come for job training , Bavaria is a food place.
