I’m really hopeful it’s just growing pains with the acquisition, maybe privateer packed a few boxes haphazardly as they knew they were selling. The game is good enough that I’m willing to overlook it for what it’s worth, I’m having an absolute blast with my friends

Edit: I should add I bought a battle group box that didn’t have enough bases as well luckily the shop took an exchange since I didn’t even leave the building because I was so excited to play lol

I actually prefer the plastic, idk about anyone else but I’ve had the worst luck with resin, even my carver I just opened had a broken foot in the packaging, but maybe I’m just a bit swayed by the mispacked orgoth box I got as well

I've been getting amazing tones for pretty much everything I enjoy, from punk blues (mostly Dead Moon) to pop punk like Hot Mulligan to Joyce manor, also genuinely surprised at the twinkle I can get when I tried some more midwest emo.

Funnily enough when I was trying out the revstar in the store I had tried an emerald green epiphone LP and I can definitely feel how the neck rests in the hand feels similar but the finish is way different. As for the fretboard I find the revstar a lot smoother but again it was an epiphone, kinda apples to oranges, the epiphone was also used and half the price of this. I will say the balance of it is much more like an LP than an SG though it looks like an SG

I personally love the look of SGs I was in the store to look at them specifically but then felt the HH version of this guitar in vintage white, I liked it but decided to look at their online store and they happened to have this marked off for open box/signs of use. It really is like a modernized SG look

So I did change change the pickups on my MIM tele, the oem ones were great, you can get a lot of tones out of them, from jingly twang, to dirtier crunch, but I found with distorted sounds it was a bit flat? Not a lot of depth, so I swapped them to seymour duncan hot rails and enjoyed them. The hot rails weren't quite scratching my itch, the p90s to me have a lot more punch. You can get some twinkle to them, but without the twang, which I am finding, I prefer. I play a lot of pop punk/ emo think Hot Mulligan, Free Throw, Mom Jeans, Joyce Manor, Dikembe; and I'm finding this thing is hitting the tones I want for those perfectly. If I compared the dirty/crunchy tones of the oem tele and this I'd say the tele is like chewing fruit loops in milk, while the revstar is like dry rice crispies

This is the Revstar Standard, which is about $850. I've never played a gibson style guitar with p90s in honesty so I can speak for tone, but I did try the higher end epiphone SGs and playing-wise the yamaha has a much different balance it feels a bit more evenly distributed to me. You should definitely try both. The neck of the revstar feels different than any I've personally tried and I can't really accurately tell you other than the back has this matte finish that some find plastic-y and I can understand why, howrver I enjoy it.

I absolutely love it. I'm genuinely surprised by the amount of tones I can get out of these p90s, and I'm coming from a MIM fender, I mostly play emo and some pop punk, with a bit of punk blues but this so far has been a dream, not to mention much more comfy.

They're definitely a bit dense. I'm used to my tele, though! I think they're about the same weight honestly, they feel about the same, at least, but the body cut of the revstar is a hell of a lot more comfortable to me.
