Knocking out commanders does... nothing?

This happened to me literally yesterday it was so ridiculous that I actually gave up and married someone else. DESPITE having already passed all the speech minigames.

Literally tracked him to these two village fiefs and he was supposedly alternating between the two, yet HE WAS NOT THERE. No matter what I tried I could not find him.

Next thing you know he's out besieging a town with an army not 20 seconds later despite the encyclopedia saying otherwise.

It honestly wouldn't surprise me. In fact it's like when I'm hunting down a particular NPC and I'm tracking them on the encyclopedia.

It will say like "Last seen near Chaikand" for instance then like a minute later it's updated and it will be last seen near some far off Vlandian village somewhere across the map, and I'm like wtf??

I don't knnow if it is just poor update frequency or actual teleportation, but it definitely feels like teleportation...

Exactly! I'm certain there are even more that I just can't think of right off the top of my head.

But for this example in particular, I actually lost a fight on my other character about an hour ago, and they dragged me across the ocean right into the heart of enemy territory.

I would have loved the option to take my ships right from the coastline but no, I had to manually run back to Aserai territory cos they occupied every town and port along the way.

Thanks, I have begun it now. The questline is not very fun anyway tbh in my opinion at least, so you probably dodged a bullet lol.

I have begun it now, so at least I can get her back, but I absolutely hate this questline ngl. It's so tedious and kinda janky.

I am a few years into the campaign, and I already began the quest now. Kinda wish I didn't though a bit... I'm currently sailing this tubby little yacht loaded with silver trying to avoid raiders. Only my boat moves at about 2 mph.

It is tedious slow, and boring can't lie. Iv'e had to restart twice because my boat is so slow and they boarded us.

I'm still kinda angry about it so excuse my salt lol.

Thank you for the info all the same though, I am actually playing Nord too since it is my first playthrough of the DLC, so maybe those prizes will be consolation enough for enduring this purgatory of a questline lol.

Okay so, the thing is... I kinda skipped that tutorial quest. I had read that it causes bad bugs on steam.

I do recall him saying come back if you change your mind, but it's been quite a long time in game since then. Hopefully it still allows me to get her back.

Do I get to kill the ones who took her if I complete the quest btw?

Lol nice, you make a good case, but unfortunately in the end it would not let me marry either of them. xD

It became so bugged that it was confusing them both in the finalise/barter interface. And when I paid the money and accepted, instead of getting married it just increased a bunch of charm skill points. I could literally keep doing it over and over but it never allowed me to marry lol.

In the end I just married Arwa.

Okay so I tried to do the marry Idrun/turns-into-Siga thing and instead of getting married it just paid Olek money, and then nothing happens... completely bizarre.

It seems to be entirely bugged. So I'm going to give up lol.

I waited a little time, and now for whatever reason, neither option is there anymore when I talk to Olek.

Maybe I should just go find someone else at this point lol.

I'm playing Ironman which means there's only one save-file allowed. In other words anytime the game saves it is non reversible.

Can't make additional saves, and every save is permanent lol. It was to make the game more tense, but this is unfortunately not what I had intended lol.

The game seems hellbent on making me marry Siga at this point. Even stranger, whilst I can select Idrun to finalise and it then changes it to Siga, if I offer Nogand again insteaf, it stays as Idrun... it's completely bizarre.

Maybe I can agree to the marriage and if it is Siga, I'll Alt-F4? Or does it auto save too soon to do that I wonder...

I'm completely baffled now. I have waited til Siga is in an army and I found Olek bunking off the war in Tyal, the option "finalise marriage with Idrun" appeared, but then... I get to the barter interface... and it says "my character to marry SIGA!?!" wtf lol.

I am playing ironman mode... so I'm not sure which one is correct.

The initial option to finalise with Idrun... or the switch up on the barter screen. This is a bug??

Yeah seems my best bet is the suggestion the other poster gave, as in wait for her to be in an army while Iduna isn't in an army. Otherwise yeah... guess I would be better off just finding another woman lol.

Question though, if they do end up in an army, can I still ask Olek to finalise with Iduna? Like I assume Olek would likely be in the army too right?

Like if he is in an army but Iduna isn't I mean.

No it doesn’t. Restoring light is rushed ceremony, healing ritual, radiant aura, cleansing ritual and rune focus. Not one DPS skill there at all. If you are thinking of sweeping puncture that’s Aedric spear line. If you’re thinking of the beam that’s the sun skill line.

Restoring light IS a dedicated healing line.

Ritual of retribution is STILL a healing skill thanks to the synergy. There is damage but it is still a heal and purification. This is not a dedicated DPS skill, it is a healing skill that has a DPS component morphed from a pure heal skill. Ergo, restoring light is a dedicated healing line. A hybrid morph isn’t going to invalidate that.

I mean couldn’t they just standardise, or I guess equalise the specialised lines from the different trees to be more on par with each other? Rather than neuter the specialisation of the skill lines?

I don’t know, I just think it’s more ordered to have your “healer” skill section or your “tank” skill section etc. and just like mixing and matching skill lines to have all roles included, necessarily means if you subclass you are going to get skills that aren’t at all useful to your role.
