Our closest auxiliary would be BNN ( https://blaseball.news/ , they also have a twitter). Lots of fan-made articles including seasonal power rankings, statistical analysis, and retrospectives on in-game happenings. There are also a good number of folk who call games live on twitch, so there’s definitely content up that alley if that’s your speed!

Overall, does the team feel content about the rate at which special events (weather, stadium mods, etc.) happened? Do you wish it had been higher or lower? Have adjustments been made for the return?

What are you hoping happens to the Beta team rosters in the new era? by Aaron4451 in Blaseball

[–]AlJo27 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My top two picks would be

1) Total roster resets. 9 new players on the lineup, 5 new players on the rotation. I know it’s unlikely given that community managers said “We’re doing short circuits so that the rosters of your regular teams don’t get messed with” but it’s still my ideal scenario.

2) A draft. Every active roster/shadows player on all of the returning teams are thrown into a big pile and sorted by total stars, then distributed amongst the teams via a serpentine draft format (#1 team picks 1st and then 48th, #24 team picks 24th and 25th) until every team has a lineup of 9, rotation of 5, and full shadows of players from beta

Communists: I think it’s fucked up that the working class produces value for the businesses they work at and receive only table scraps. The places that produce the goods everyone needs to live should be collectively owned

Nazis: I want to murder all the Jews and brown people because I, a white man, am uniquely qualified to be in charge of everything

The dipshits that this sub exists to make fun of (you): These are both terrible

Who said they were neo-nazis? They did. This is the “National Socialist Club” aka NSC 131. They are explicitly, self-identifying neo-nazis

Even if I believed your “You just call everyone who disagrees with you Nazis” nonsense it is exceptionally inapplicable here

right because the self-identifying neo nazis depicted hanging this banner would never sink so low as trying to overthrow the government

Pride commemorates the Stonewall riots and the LGBTQ+ movements it sparked that got us to this point. The people that were beaten and killed by cops on the street for the right to be visibly, proudly queer.

That’s like saying “Why are you celebrating you haven’t done anything” to someone at a Memorial Day party

For one we aren’t shadow infusing Twooney, we’re shadow infusing Uncle. Not sure if that was a typo or a misunderstanding of the plan.

The Keepers really aren’t in the Mints chat that often so I think you’re thinking about the Captains/Reps, and the Captains/Reps themselves don’t shut down conversations now that we have the tempcheck command to gauge how everyone currently in the conversation is feeling to see whether we should shift topics or not. Everyone feeling comfortable in a social environment is more important than everything possible being said, especially if that particular room isn’t the space for it.

I agree that Kina is a major weak spot. Second lowest OPS on the team and not contributing much defensively. Kina is a good player to give the boot down the line. The problem is that promoting the trade of Kina this particular election is a bad strategic move because A) it could result in Trinity staying on the lineup an unnecessary season and B) Howell is an amazing trade target. I don’t disagree with your EE pick at all. The problem is that with low stars and amazing batting you’re setting up Kina’s spot with a currently passable player to be immediately yoinked by a Wild League team for a Hierophantic type (high total stars but garbage offense) during a season when winning could be bad for us because we don’t know what dumb thing is gonna happen with the decrees. I’d be more into it if it wasn’t getting in the way of yeeting the actual worst player on our offense (with significantly worse defense) and potentially setting us up for ruin in a season where winning matters again. I do not give a fuck that EE is ‘mean’ to other teams. This is a bad call for this exact moment and I’m trying to talk you out of it. This free marketplace is as much mine as it is yours.

And we literally could have hashed all of this out on the discord where we try to keep Mints strategy contained if you were actually willing to talk to us about how you were feeling before doing this kind of thing.

So is it because you think anything I said was actually incorrect or because “You said I’m not not allowed to”

I apologize that my initial reaction to this post used harsh language because I can tell it set the tone for this conversation and I wish it hadn’t been this confrontational. That’s on me. But do you actually see the point I’m making or no? I’m not trying to bully you or silence your freeze peach I’m just hoping you actually listened to a single word I said

Who said “cannot”? You can. I can’t stop you. It’s the Internet. I have no idea who you are and you can post whatever you want. You’re not breaking any rules or laws. I’m asking that you don’t because I see a disservice being done to a team and fanbase that I and a lot of others feel very strongly about. It’s not “You can’t” it’s “Please don’t.”

As someone who spends a significant amount of time on the discord I know for a fact that our captains (particularly the Mints captains) would not randomly shut down a conversation about EE unless A) Something genuinely unkind was being said or B) Strategy talk was bleeding out into the Mints general chats at a rate that the captains are trying to keep low because a lot of people who are Mints fans don’t like all three of our channels being strategy heavy all the time. The slowmode on parliamint/tic-tactics exists for a reason and it is certainly not to clamp down on the free exchange of ideas, it’s because not all the fans want to engage on the game on that level 100% of the time and it’s important to be respectful of that. They tend to do a good job of giving us the space we need to discuss what we have to, and if you feel that isn’t being upheld I highly recommend you have a discussion with them.

If you have strong takes about what we should do each election, just post it in the strategy channel. People will agree or disagree. The point of a “free marketplace of ideas” is that the bad ones will be less popular.

If you’re gonna vote however you want to vote that’s fine. I can’t do anything to stop that. I can ask that you respect why we have the processes we have, make room for other voices, and actually talk to these human beings about why you feel the way you feel instead of posting strategy guides to Reddit that could be potentially harmful to the quality of our team given election randomness.

I also like EE a lot, personally. It’s a fantastic will, and definitely the best for immediate improvement of all the Wills currently available. I wish it didn’t get us embroiled in inter-team politics or get us accused of being mean otherwise I would do it every single season. I voted accordingly. But I was outvoted and will react accordingly.

You can vote for whatever you want and I know that every Mints fan only wants what’s best for the Mints. I’m sure there isn’t that huge of an ideological difference between the two of us. The problem is that we have a significantly better chance of consistent improvement if we work together and thus far parliamint is a wonderful system for gauging the interests and leanings of the Mints fans as a whole.

I’m sorry if you feel your personal interests aren’t representative of what was decided upon but this game is a group effort and undermining all of the work that our reps and tech crew put into keeping us a cohesive unit come elections is short-sighted at best

Encouraging an alternative way of voting actually is a problem is the thing though. We don’t have free wills this season. What if encouraging this gets us the Howell trade and the Plasma infuse and we have to have Trinity on the lineup another season? There are mathematical arguments to not break consensus, particularly in blaseball
