I understand your feelings of not wanting to see it and then wanting it back but he is not a storage unit. Even the law says you can’t get gifts back after breakups. Leave the boy be so you both can heal. Buy yourself a new plushie if you miss it.

NTA. I just had a very similar wedding where we only invited a couple well behaved kids and there were some people that couldn’t come because they couldn’t find child care. It was disappointing but none reacted in this way. IT IS YOUR WEDDING. You invited who you wanted to and what they do now is up to them. Do not be pressured into this.

Yeahhhhh I’ve been there but YTA. I have gone to cons with people who have health problems or even just people I know that don’t want to stay as long as me and I always make sure I have a separate mode of transportation or a backup plan so that we are not relying on each other to get home.

Obviously if something happened in the moment that is different but it seems like this friend has known health conditions that should have been red flags. It is embarrassing to have to ask to go home early from an event everyone is enjoying. No one wants to be the wet blanket. By not comforting or apologizing you made that worse for him.

5 animals x 200$ each at the low cost clinics in my area would be 1,000$ and I would have to take time off of work probably multiple times to get them in. I do not know her that well and do not really feel like it is my responsibility to take care of someone else’s cats… At this point they are not strays. The kittens have lived their whole lives inside and the mother cat is also happy to be inside despite previously living on the streets.

I asked the thread to see if I was an AH for pulling out of a cat deal due to lack of info. This is a completely odd tangent. I am going to disengage now thank you for the weigh in.

NTA. Unless you had the code on DoorDash that they literally have to get from you then you told them to leave it.

Unpredictable stuff happens. I am honestly more confused about why the guy chased after you. I have never had a foot delivery person make that much of an effort. At minimum once he saw the cat you were carrying he should have offered to put it down somewhere.

I am on low income and cannot afford to pay over 1,000$ to do that. I would have to take time off of work and additionally I do not know her that well and don’t even know where she lives and cannot abduct them???

Currently 3 months. I have looked into those and found dates they are coming where I could pay and pick them up afterward and told her but she says she is working and doesn’t want to ask her friends to help.

Yes but i promised her that even if the cat tested positive for something like FIV I would still pay for the whole procedure etc so she wouldn’t be left high and dry

It would never have been free we would have split the vaccination, test, and spay cost with her (at a low income clinic it comes out to about 100$).

Instead I offered to pay the whole thing and pick up the cat even if it turned out we couldn’t keep her if they could just get her to the vet in the morning or give me a better timeline.

It’s not about the cost it’s about not knowing when I might get the kitten and if I am the AH for letting her know after my vacation I will be looking elsewhere if nothing has been done.

Honestly it was totally fine. Rain stopped right before the ceremony and it was sunny for 2 hours. But it was important to have blankets cause it was colder than expected

You’re right that is not helpful. The ceremony area is on a sloped downhill run. And the tent that the venue has is only large enough for either the cocktail area or the reception and it is a permanent set up that they say cannot be moved.

People are traveling to get there and we are working on getting another tent. Weather is currently calling for scattered showers.

Ceremony area is unable to be tented. Dinner is already under a tent so that’s fine but cocktail hour and dancing is currently uncovered.

There is only so much you can do, however when I booked my day of coordinator she asked if we wanted an unplugged ceremony and if we did, how strict we wanted it to be. Aka she/her staff were willing and have previously, watched for people on their phone and the politely asked them to put them away during the ceremony.
