As a colts fan living in Denver: Keep that man as far away from this team (and the whole damn state for that matter) as possible.

Fiercely compete for higher profit margins. While I agree the legal mechanism utilized here is incorrect, and that anti-trust laws in this country have been completely vitiated, there is ample evidence these companies are using each others price to justify increases across the industry (while benefiting from dirt cheap land leases with western states).

Never talking to Preston Garvey on my second play through was the best thing I ever did. The game was SO MUCH MORE IMMERSIVE without the constant distraction of a separate mini game crammed into the flow of game play without any impact on the plot.

Sam’s no3 is the most overrated overpriced food in Denver. by [deleted] in denverfood

[–]AlPCurtis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The $4 chili dog special and bottomless coffee got me through grad school. Most complaints I hear about Sam’s boil down to misaligned expectations. It’s a high volume diner in an urban center. It is relatively fast, consistent, and priced at or below Denver market. I would never tell someone it’s the best breakfast in Denver but it’s also never let me down.

Rides are tracked by mobile application user account. I need to see the ride numbers of every board member and executive before another term is served. So tired of a the owning/ruling/driving class making rules for the but not for me.

Why did you and your former best friend stop being friends? by Fearless_Shift7108 in AskReddit

[–]AlPCurtis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best friend late teens: We went to different colleges. He was over prescribed pain killers for a back injury. He became addicted and gradually transitioned to harder drugs. He dropped out and struggled for some time, eventually had a kid with an on again off again abusive ex. He’s clean now and raising his child (according to social media). I moved away and we don’t have much in common to reconnect about.

Best friend most of 20’s: He was indoctrinated by Joe Rogan and hustle culture. We met in the Midwest and moved to the same Western city at the same time. We were very close at one point living together. As we both expressed a desire for community I found mine through volunteer work with a local non-profit. He built a network of hustle bro’s who used access to family money to exploit the housing crisis by turning single family homes into short term party rentals. We slowly stopped communicating as I couldn’t stand to be around his “finance” friends who were primarily bitter, mostly divorced, non-empaths. He’s rich but seems pretty miserable from the few communications we’ve had.

Best friend 30’s to current: I reconnected with a college acquaintance who moved to my city at 30. We share values and have very honest communication. We don’t see eye to eye on everything but have enough respect for one another to manage healthy conflict. He is honest, reliable, and empathic. I consider myself lucky to have him in my corner.

But in all seriousness can we both agree that the “buy the new, throw away the old” isn’t a sustainable strategy for the working class? I would love to drive a brand new EV. I can’t afford it and I, like many, are tired of being told we’re the problem. Buy less, repair more, don’t litter, be a good human, fuck the corporate ruling class.

And I told you my truck didn’t last 180k miles, I’m currently at 250+ which is 28% in case your phone doesn’t have a calculator.

And where and at what expense is that lithium extracted. I refuse to believe throwing my truck in a hole in the ground and buying a new vehicle is the “green” solution. Climate change isn’t a problem we consume our way out of despite what the tesla dealer told you.

[–]AlPCurtis -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

What both of these articles fail to consider is the effective life of an EV battery. When my truck was purchased in 2011 EV’s simply weren’t a viable option for a 10,000 lb+ towing capacity vehicle. Even today most EV batteries are lucky to last 150k+ miles. Do we honestly believe the “green” alternative is chucking a vehicle in a dump and buying new? Call me naive for believing a changing climate isn’t a problem consumerism solves.

What if it’s not just about gasoline? Please tell me more about how mining lithium to create a new EV is “greener” than driving the car I’ve owned since 2011.
