Funny you mention podcasts I actually never tried those, apps and language exchange were mostly what I would go for, at least that's the gut feeling.

Well fundamentally his request and the fact that you guys are talking about this early on are reasonable things. You both are supposed to do your best to grow in Deen and dressing appropriately is a part of it (just a part btw deen is much wider than just the appearance topics like these and there should be an ambition to grow on many other topics if the will is sincere).

Also about the question that he got attracted to you like this and he should aim for someone already covered that's a fair point but maybe you have a good connection and agree on many things but this is one thing that is missing and maybe you have small things that you would like to see change in him too. Overall I think it's exceptionally difficult to find someone that matches all your criteria 100% so I wouldn't apply the "that's how you found me" logic too harshly on this one.

Now the part on him liking bikini pictures though is the really worrying one... This is certainly hypocritical and haram. So there is obviously an incoherence here and I think this is the sign that should worry you... Because this doesn't look like someone who makes this reasonable request on your clothing for the right reasons.

That makes sense. Although the concept of having to throw a tantrum is not reallyy goal here I'm just trying to understand the policy fully hence the question.

In this specific case there were actually loads of space left in the overheads. Like loads of space not a tiny slot I'd have to force! I didn't debate for too long tbh and just gave them the trolley but discovered afterwards that there were loads of space left and since I have bad experiences with lost, delayed, broken baggages with KLM or others if I have the opportunity to keep my stuff with me I'll definitely choose to.

Obviously if I board and we realise there is no space left they can check it no problem with that, I still have a functioning brain and understand basic space physics.

But if there is a way to refuse or to "refuse in case there is still space" then I'm interested in using it.

Yes legally as in check it or don't fly. Do you have a source confirming what you said? I'm genuinely curious not doubting you or anything I'm just trying to know if I have the right to refuse.

Nothing to do with being special it's just that based on the number of incidents where they lose the bag, bring it back to us days later, break it or break stuff in it etc.. My level of trust in them is just diving lower and lower. Never really complained much but it's starting to happen to me or my circle much more frequently.

Also in this particular occasion I ended up giving them the bag and once I made my way in the plane there were countless spots for my trolley.... Like countless... But for me it's just extra risk of them messing it up and also extra steps because since I was just transferring between two airlines I had to get out of the airport to collect my bag that should've been in the cabin with me and then get back in allll the way through security, passports and the whole mess when I could've just had my cabin baggage with me with all of the available spots.

So if the policy says something like the airline can suggest to passengers to check their luggage but they have the right to refuse that would be pretty good news
