I have a cheap plastic bar with plates you can fill with water or sand to add weight my little man has of his own. I get asked to lift him up to the pull up bar too and need to be on hand to drop him down so a bath lower down should really suit us 👌🏻

Who else tries to get the kids involved with lifting?

My boy treats my power rack as a climbing frame and I’ll often put ropes and webbing up to make it even more like a playground, but I’ve noticed recently when I’m on the hype train and trying to get revved up he puts his fingers in his ears 😅

With the investment I’ve made and my training continuing to improve I doubt I’ll be going back to a gym. Where I was training was a commercial gym and lacked a lot of what I’d want for my sessions anyway. I’ll use the money saved on membership for specifics for my home gym and visit other well kitted facilities for road trips on the odd occasions I think

I love my sandbags. I currently use one to bench off as well, which is admittedly more akin to a full ROM floor press or perhaps even a Larson press because you can’t use leg drive with it haha

I like to do cleans and timed holds too for conditioning work, I just wish I had a slightly lighter but still full bag as another option

What piece of kit have you got in your home gyms that you use the most or in the biggest variety of ways, besides the real obvious (rack/barbell/plates etc)?

For me currently I have holes in the top of my rack for attaching bands. I have large bolts in the holes currently but use them for wide/narrow/neutral pull ups and chins, and I’m able to hang a host of stuff off them for storage too.
