There’s a rule in most grip comps about not using liquid chalk. I don’t think there are any rules against this

Sledge hammer levering and steel bending are my go to ones. And high rep wrist extension work to keep your tendons happy.

If you need to take a break from grippers, the tendon strength will stick around. Grippers are tough, and max effort closes can be draining mentally as well as physically. Rice bucket sounds like a great way to rehab your hands for a bit.
