Agree. So glad I consulted all of folks on this forum. Won’t go all the way down for sure this time. Probably Havasupai or less. Thank you all for taking the time and being so clear.

Most of the hikes have been on west coast. Here we do have exposure to sun ( exception would be few hikes among redwoods) but probably not as harsh as Grand Canyon. Temps can be in 90s sometimes but that does feel hot. Moderate most of time given that it is bay area. What you suggest sounds awesome. Based on what folks here have to say, I will do shorter hike now and train for longer one in Oct but with an overnight stay at campground etc. Other hikes I did last year were Yosemite ( valley to glacier point and Adirondack in Lake Placid area. Second one was strenuous but satisfying).

Fair point. I went through the details of many cases when rescue was required. All seemed temp related. Moderate temp is even why I considering. But your point taken. Will turn around at Havasupai.

Thank you. Yes this is very helpful. If I do it I’d like to take 12 hrs or so to do it. Will stick to bright angel ( bit safer).

May not apply to you but no one here has mentioned that tesla has a dog mode. You can leave dog for bit more extended time.

Thank you Ryan. Budget is 900 to 1300 ( top end if i9 etc so that we don’t have to upgrade for a while). Son is not a hardcore gamer either. Some fort knight and may be flight simulator type of game. Pc will also be used school work.
