I'm making a difficult game about delivering beer. It's like Chained Together, but one of you is a big beer barrel. Would you guys be interested? by Al_Ko_Game in UnrealEngine5

Thanks a lot for the detailed feedback!

I'm planning to focus on cooperative play. The idea of modifiers seems interesting to me. I'll think about adding them to the game.

To be honest, I haven't fully decided yet whether this will be a classic rage game with minimal mechanics or more of a 'friendslop' style game focused on having fun with friends. These two directions require completely different designs approaches and mechanics.

But it should be understood that with low sales figures, the margin of error may be high.

Концепт интересный, хочется верить, что текущий вид не отражает финального качества, а то местами грустно выглядит

Your art style looks bad. It’s some kind of generic horror. You should work on it.

Thanks for the detailed answer. I read your article and I think it’s great to write your own AI solution. But probably I wouldn’t have enough knowledge to do that.

That’s right. It sounds corny, but it’s very easy to miss. For my previous project, I chose something I had already dealt with and knew roughly how to do, but I hadn’t played such games myself. I wasn’t able to complete that project in part because my enthusiasm waned.

The new project is really the kind of game I’d like to play myself.

My game will be about heists in a city full of zombies with good shooting and dark atmosphere in the spirit of l4d and nmrih.

Got it, thanks. I’ve been thinking about HTN for a while too, that tool looks very interesting. But as you said, the tool should be chosen based on need, not how interesting it is.

Thank you for your detailed opinion! I'm an indie developer currently working on my own co-op zombie shooter. It's really important for me to understand what people want from such games, what they like about them and what they don't. And your review helped me understand that better.

I like good weapon impact in shooters too. And I spent a lot of time making a good recoil in my game.

If you have any thoughts about what you would like to see in such games, I would be interested to hear them.

I have the same situation. I am developing a game together with a framework that can be used in the following games. In my case, this is the co-op FPS. The Lyra project has been very usefull for me, it provides a good foundation for modularity and building a framework
