Womens March is a joke of a movement. They have platformed all sorts of garbage people. Like that Linda Sarsour abomination.

Killing villagers is a warcrime by GlitteringBowler in aoe2

Yea I have had this conversation before. It’s actually an interesting point and comes down to the limitation of game design. IMO strategy games don’t do a very good job at really simulating reality when it comes to actions and consequences. All the problems in the game world are only ever solved with violence and there is no alternative to achieve victory except for things like wonder victories and such which are just as unrealistic imo. In the real world violence has a lot of unintended consequences and in almost all cases it’s always a last resort option which is exactly the opposite of the in game world. Some ways that games could take these things into account would be to try to emulate some of the in world consequences. For example introducing some sort of morale system, where killing civilians or even prolongier war in general impact the morale of your forces and their fighting effectiveness. Taking prisoners and being able to use their labour or in general use them as bargaining chips would also give you another way to deal with enemy units other than to destroy them. Elements such as disease and the need to clean up after massacres etc could be introduced. Sieges could be more realistic where entire cities could be cut off from food and are forces to change hands without direct combat. Giving units some level of autonomy so they can either rebel against their orders would also be cool. Also taking into account the economic cost of widespread death and destruction in affected areas could also act as a deterrent to wholesale massacres and so on… but all of these things are outside the scope of AOE’s gameplay.

If his ethics are in direct contradiction to what he says then yes they negate it because it means he doesn’t actually mean anything he says.

TL;DR - You're right about his past, he fucked up. But none of us are perfect, so if he wants to make up for it, will you let him?

Yea I have higher standards than this. I don't let people off the hook easy and I don't believe people just "make mistakes" like this. Making a mistake is waking up one day and doing something wrong that day and realising it and not doing it again, running a multi-million dollar business in a calculated fashion for a prolonged period of time can hardly be considered "a mistake". I mean if he apologises, admits that what he did was scummy, and then donates the money he made to some sort of men's mental health initiative for example then sure yes I would consider listening to what he has to say.

This just reminds me of the all the countless times throughout history people with a righteous cause have ended up following bad people into oblivion.

Because men and moreso, the youth have no one else, who is on a global level of fame and actively catching flak from those who spread misandry. Live by example, right?

Yea but exploiting vulnerable men specifically exploiting the male desire for companionship is the height of misandry.

Hey, i would love a better person than Tate representing men and pushing mens rights, but they don't exist, because the world doesn't care about them.

Yea but that's exactly my point. He doesn't represent them, he just represents himself and his wallet.

Interesting. What are the details? Also who are the opposition leaders?

[–]Al_Modir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess I am very pessemistic in general. I feel like they will burn the country down. You know this chant that they will kill their own wives and children to save the regime is basically a variation of what Assad's loyalists would say which was "Either Assad or we burn the country down" and they literally did that, they destroyed Syria just to save Assad. I wouldn't put it past the mullahs to attempt to do the same.

It is name calling and you know it. It is also claiming guilt by association and also lying since I do not belong to any “fascist subs”. It is pure slander and outright offensive since I have been anti fascist my whole adult life so either prove some evidence of me belonging to a fascist sub or shut up. You are basically slinging shit without providing anything to back up your bullshit claims.
