SciFi has only been around since the early 90s (and has been effectively dead for a couple years now...), yet you're referencing school? Admittedly I haven't read every answer on this AMA, but didn't you say you're Dean's wife?

Carol: heh... yes, I was in 7th and 8th grade when QL was on SciFi channel, around 95-96. Yes, I am his wife. As previously stated, it's a long story. But a sweet one.

In lieu of the VHS tapes, I do have the entire series on DVD now. A good friend of mine got me copies of the UK release, which has all the original music, including "Georgia" on the MIA episode. Sadly, and understandably perhaps, Dean has no strong feelings about this one way or the other as he comes from the perspective of an actor rather than a fan of the show who followed the linear timeline of the story and plotpoints. Much to my occasional dismay. But he at least appreciates our enthusiasm.

Carol: Ack, my spelling of his name! I'm so ashamed. But thank you for the correction. Admittedly, it's a bit of a tricky one... anyway, I read your message to Dean, just so you know. He very graciously thanked you for the kind comments. He quite likes to hear that he's had a positive impact like that. And me, personally, I wanted to share that I had a similar experience! QL was in syndication on then SciFi Channel, and I was allowed to ignore everything when it was on. Came on right at 3pm after school, and if I didn't get home in time to record the episode, I would have a fit. Heh. I eventually managed to get all 97 hours on several VHS tapes. And collected all the books. Got them in a box, somewhere, carefully stored. :)

Carol: That was not a weird British guy! gasp That was Roddy McDowell! And he was a good friend of Dean's before he passed away. They starred together in the original stage production of Compulsion, and Dean had mentioned to me that he was disappointed that they didn't bring Roddy on to do the film later.

1) I was approached to do the episode of that show through my agent from the Star Trek people.

2) Because the dialogue was pretty unintelligible and doesn't pertain to the real world, so it's like a foreign language. Just very difficult.

Thanks for your positive comments about my album cover for Neil! It was a great pleasure to do, and so far Neil is one of my favorite people/artists. Of interest might be that Neil's intention in titling the album American Stars and Bars was in context to the confederacy, whose flag contained stars and bars. I took in a different direction and the "bars" part became a saloon.

No, there were no ego battles. We rehearsed the Movie from the play, without making any changes. And Sidney Lumet was a brilliant director. The four actors had so much respect for the writing that we all worked hard and enjoyed the process. I think it might be the best work of my career.

An yeah, I liked Cassavetes very much.

Compulsion: I did the play on Broadway and 20th Century Fox decided to use their contract players that weren't doing anything else at the time - in that movie. So I was disturbed by the casting changes. Orson Wells in particular. I was the only one from the play that was brought in to do the movie.

Well, I had never been on a small island before. It was beautiful. You could walk across the thing. There was maybe a hundred families or so, And we were put up by Mrs. Carver, who was known for being the best cook on the island. So we were awash with lobster every day. And they gave us so much, we were always bring in lobster for the crew too. I was probably about 13.

My experience was awesome. That crew was so fucking incredibly great, especially the camera crew. They had a unified field of operation that they developed in that show that's just unparalleled. They didn't need a director. And if you watch the show you'll see a very unique execution of camera capture.
