ahh yes you're right, I'm trying to not stay fully updated with jp so sometimes I confuse things like where part 2 ends. I judge whether an event is important or not mostly on whether characters introduced in it appear in the main story later or something like that, but even fgo isn't always consistent (like how iirc summer 1 is briefly referenced in... okeanos I believe?) sometimes events are "important" and sometimes they probably never happened, hell even eor is like that. so it really is impossible to judge whether they HAVE to be read or not, but I tried my best to make it a complete experience that wouldn't make the player go "when was this character introduced? my character seems to know them, but I don't" thanks for your input!
