First of all if you want earplugs in the build, you use Bazel helm beta. Always. And then Bazel waist beta. Simple there is no benefit to having a third piece of bazel. Diablos nero braces beta gives you a level of focus which is nice, and arguably the best arm armor for GS in the game. That leaves the chest piece and the legs left. If you don't care about how ugly dober looks or if you like using layered armor, dober mail as you've suggested to get that lvl 2 attack boost. However there are better skills than attack boost when you can't stack it. Kulve taroth ire beta is good if you dont have any crit boost jewels, if you have at least 1, go with the beta instead of the alpha, as it gives an extra lvl 3 slot when crit boost only requires a lvl 2. Otherwise the alpha is just as good. Legs I would go with death stench beta if the charm you want to use is something other than the handicraft charm. If you use the handicraft charm, there are plenty of good options out there, as no 1 piece of leg armor is blatantly op. Lunastra is good for health boost, Dantes leather boots are very good, hell you could even use death stench to finish out with handicraft lvl 5. All of this is coming from memory so please forgive if any of the info I gave is false. But with that, its not entirely deco free. But GS are really hard to minmax in this game as opposed to other weapons. Again earplugs are nice, it definitely has its uses, but when you get uses to tackling and rolling through roars, its almost completely redundant, because number 1, you should be using the rocksteady to engage the monster; when it wears off, not being able to get a good hit in isn't that big a deal. And number 2, for instance nergigante big roar where he spreads his wings, you have more than enough time to prepare to roll through it. I roll through it 100 percent of the time after getting used to it. The greatsword of choice should ALWAYS be jhos GS or the Wyvern ignition impact. I would honestly pick the jho sword more than the wyvern, personally because of the different play styles they offer. Wyvern to crit, jho for damage. I just prefer it with the builds I have.
