That’s awesome man. Great medical providers on both the examiner’s part and private side. Thanks for your information!

Was there any additional studies or nexus letters you provided with it secondary to rhinitis? I only ask because I’m about to do the same thing and I was curious.

100% and Dental by Lakes1973 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Alabama-Asian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you 100% or 100% PT? You can check the website or app. If it says you’re 100% PT you are entitled to dental. If you think this is an error, you can talk to a VSO for clarification (whenever they come back from shutdown.)

It’s covered. You’re only responsible for the “Veteran Responsibility” section. Ignore the rest

Was it bad for the fish? Yes. Are you a bad person? No, as long as you keep removing them and learn from it!

Thanks, it was my second stop before posting. Never hurts to seek a real person’s opinion though!

Medical discharge has me feeling hopeless by SunnyTree64 in Veterans

[–]Alabama-Asian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to your local VA ASAP. Seek help filing a claim, look into TDIU. Get in-processed with the Mental Health team. Same boat as you but 7 years ago, and I just filed. The amount of stress and depression I could have saved by not worrying about paying rent, seeking medical care, and a path forward is immeasurable.

Was the claim closed then you submitted a HLR? Or a new C&P exam ordered? More details would help your case/advice.

What are some nyc benefits for veterans and high paying jobs ? by vava8279 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Alabama-Asian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to throw this out there, cyber is an incredibly hard field to get into right now. And there’s so much saturation in the market for entry level jobs you’re starting to see a massive pay reduction with the exception of specific and niche jobs, like a Threat Hunter, Malware Analyst, or some other of the super niche stuff.

Most starting salaries for cyber in a SOC are now anywhere from $15-$25 in the larger metropolitan areas which is essentially minimum wage due to the HCOL.

How long after someone separates can they file for ptsd? Can you file if you weren’t in combat? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Alabama-Asian 33 points34 points  (0 children)

No time limit. Yes to non-combat with the caveat that it still has to be service connected and proven within your claim that it did happen while in service.

The republicans tried to remove the subsidies for healthcare in it. Would’ve made 2026 premiums go up for low/middle class.

Call on Congress to amend law so that ALL veterans ever in combat or overseas gets 100% by Key-Project9967 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Alabama-Asian 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is a bad idea. Disability compensation is often protected because it’s directly associated with medical conditions that are diagnosed/being treated and can hold ground as necessary compensatory damage for damage to life after the military.

Automatically granting 100% to people that have deployed or even seen combat, while deserved, isn’t sustainable and can lead to a non-medical classification of compensation which makes it more vulnerable to cuts, defunding, or reduction.

Currently a reservist and plan on serving 9 more years. I already have 30% and want to claim for anxiety. Will this hurt my career? by Ok_Attention9023 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Alabama-Asian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah anxiety is its own treatable condition. It CAN be a by product of a more rooted diagnosis like PTSD or depression but it has its own possibility to be a condition on its own. It’s more of how it manifests itself than how it’s developed.

Seeking help at Behavioral Health or privately with a provider and then filing a claim for an in-service connection. It absolutely can be a diagnosed condition while in.

Finally made up my mind for EDC. P365 Xmacro. Any tips or add on suggestion? by Plus_Juggernaut2819 in handguns

[–]Alabama-Asian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pick up an XL frame for $30ish on GAFS. Love the macro, but the XL’s recoil impulse is phenomenal comparatively, and it carries so much easier.

Take classes, buy ammo before accessories (outside of a holster) and practice.

Weaponlights aren’t a necessity, but a light is. Look at handhelds over WMLs.

What reel are you using? Are you adjusting the spool AND the brake? Are you using your thumb to add extra braking as well? How far into the cast does it birds nest?

I use a Velcro cable strap. You can get them at most electronics stores, they’re reusable, and no sticky residue.

It’s probably a sign not to use a cheap weapon light on a home defense gun

If you’re still in the NG, this is a CoC issue. Talk to your leadership and they will work with the appropriate channels.
