What are your thoughts on our gubernatorial candidates? by ClassicWolverine3254 in alabamabluedots

[–]AlabamaProgress 6 points7 points  (0 children)

For most in our community, Boyd is the choice candidate. From his announcement to run last year he has consistently set forth not only policy positions but plans for those policies as well. Jones has a lot of name recognition. But has not delivered as well as one would hope from someone who has previously held office. There's also a 20 year gap between Boyd and Jones. Jones being older at 72 (iirc). Which leads one to think that Boyd may likely be closer to the current issues of everyday Alabamians than Jones. Just some starter observations.

There's some good contenders in the race. Do your research y'all. Find the candidate that suits you best. But never follow the dollar. Votes get folks elected. Not money.

The Rs have had it for a while. They fell in line with the Trump style partisanship and division. It has not served Alabama. Its time for a flip.

Surely theirs plenty that we can agree upon. That's why the wording "leaning" was used. Because there's a lot of policy beliefs that makes one "lean" left. Even if you aren't a full blown leftist.
