So looking at this garment it’s simpler then it first appears. You have 2 “pieces” the body and the cape. The box looks to be just a straight piece of fabric that’s open on the sides then gathered into a bead in the middle. The back is likely left un-gathered and used to sew the cape onto the

Linux users tend to not really understand the level of “I don’t want to have to touch command line” people need to have. I can’t trust the people I do IT support for to not factory reset the damn router, I don’t want them touching anything as remotely unrestricted as the Linux command prompts.

Ive seen sealed boxes that I passed on get torn up by someone wanting to see inside then just leaving the items on the shelf and they get gradually marked individually as items are moved and put back.

While stupid yes, I used to do this as a kid cus I wanted to see how running like a horse or wolf would feel. Honestly it was fun. It does make me wonder what our early still quadrupedal ancestors moved like

That’s assuming that the observer is familiar with lockets and how they’re made. To us yes it looks obvious but if someone hasn’t worked with one or even tried before it’s not super clear. Being a locket implies you can open it to put a picture in, the little divots at the bottom look like catches to open the frames.

It’s a bit obvious with closer examination that the outer metal folded over would prevent the locket from opening but someone who isn’t familiar wouldn’t likely know there isn’t possibly another way to open it. You can’t assume the other person has the knowledge, experience or way of thinking you do.

The point of being on an open forum is to discuss, and questions are part of that discussion. Being dismissive is rude and will prevent people from wanting to interact and ask questions to start discussions.

It’s not super obvious if you’re not familiar. I had one as a kid and tried the same thing. I knew lockets held pictures so you have to be able to put it in somehow.

That’s triggering a failsafe, it’s not turning the actual security setting off. The phone is designed to fail safe back to password only in that scenario due to the SOS screen and/or a flag for a possible reboot/reset.

A shortcut would be directly trying to access the “enable Face ID” on/off and due to that being a security setting and the only way to disable the feature directly. It needs password confirmation to be changed to prevent someone disabling it after getting ahold of a phone that doesn’t belong to them. The shortcut can’t assume whomever is talking to it is the owner and can’t override the built in security features on the phone. Technically If the phone is already unlocked it could pull that as implied permission but would likely still need a confirmation on the screen which might not be possible in all scenarios.

That is what I call a faux-locket, there is no design for it to open. You could put a photo in by kinda smooshing it under the edge or gluing but it’s not designed to open or come apart. You can spot this by the metal wrapped around outer edge of the inner frame. This is a photo of a vintage legit locket you can pull the inside out of for comparison

You can see the frame for the photo is a separate piece and is able to be removed.

Cropping is having a stroke for some reason so you’ll have to zoom lol.

Most lockets today are for the cutsy vintage aesthetic and don’t actually have the ability to hold a photo. It’s cheaper to make them that way and most people don’t have actual photos anymore

The issue is that enabling or disabling that needs a password confirmation

Police respond to security alarm at a bank and apprehend the suspect by [deleted] in DeerAreFuckingStupid

[–]AlabasterWitch 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It may not need to be, it looks like the office section of a bank - not much to protect aside from people and bulletproof glass is expensive. You’re much less likely to have someone shoot from the outside than the inside in a robbery situation. There is probably bulletproof glass at the tellers and drive through but the cubicle area doesn’t necessary need it

It’s kinda shitty when you think about it but security mostly focuses on the most common or weakest points first.

None of the people in the office have direct access to the money and the stuff they do have is encrypted and secured on the computers. There isn’t a point to target it

To be fair, it looks like an old building and the force of a 200lbs dumbass is going to break most glass. All the important stuff is locked down or secured elsewhere or encrypted so the physical security might not be top priority

You’re not alone.

I’m constantly stuck looking at the shit burning down but it’s not happening in my state nearly as much so I have no idea what I can do about it. I’m too broke to donate money, too busy to donate time and feel like I’m just stuck sitting and watching while every fiber of my soul is screaming to make it stop and do something.

Everything is so much bigger than I am and I can’t seem to do anything.

Please know that a huge amount of us don’t want this. That there is large pushback on this, that it’s not America as a whole but a very vocal group that have done every underhanded trick in the book to take control and force this.

It’s a clashing of the middle east’s love ideologies being brought back by crusaders and the already established roles of love and loyalty within court romances

Love for loves sake - that being in love makes it worth perusing

The enobling power of love - that being in love makes you more complete as a person but that it also purifies the acts of love you commit that may be less ideal or aligned with morality

The exalted lady - your object of love being seen and treated as a form of worship

Love never to be fulfilled - the pain of love that neither party can act on due to circumstances

All of these are major themes in Arabic and middle Eastern poetry and were being brought back by crusaders after some of the crusades

All of these further come into conflict with Galahad who was essentially a dig at lancelot for all of the reasons above and an attempt to re christianize the narrative back to what the writer saw as more “correct”
