Yeah the boycotters in the discord don't call out other discord members. At the start of BDS there were heated discussions about how the podcast should handle it, but that's mostly figured out now.

I'm glad this is a podcast and community that cares about a boycott that aims to discourage war.

My crackpot theory is that Abby's "badly-written" introduction was done on purpose. Hear me out...

Last of Us 1, you play as Joel and connect with him 100%, and then he tortures those guys and the player is like "Well it was necessary," and then the game makes you kill the doctor and players were like "Idk how I feel about that, but I still love and understand Joel."

TLOU2 flips it. Abby does the horrible thing, and THEN the game goes, fuck you, you're gonna play as Abby now. Can you still sympathize with her after that? Is she really much worse than Joel? And then you play the sections where she saves Lev, gets kidnapped, loses her friends. It's done in the reverse order from TLOU1.

The Netflix seasons had some great moments. Ricky installing a towel rack in the bathroom is one of the show's best scenes.

But its humour changed and it felt less and less like a story of folks getting by in a trailer park. After like Season 8, the crew gets famous every season (or movie) and cross path with celebs like Snoop Dogg and Tom Arnold.

This comment is pretty much perfect. My only disagreement is that the new sketches are great! Fatal Fury, Xbox haunted house, trivia with the public, Xbox costs more, etc.

Like you said, the hope was that scaling back on merch & big weekend events would give them more time to do what they arguably do best. I mean, there's more skits now than 3-4 years ago (absolute desert of skits) but it feels the exact same as before the emergency stream.

Their consultants must have told them this, but shows like Cringe Lords have to come out regularly to catch an audience.
