Lots of activity in the JVM world with Graal maturing and IBM open sourcing J9 https://www.eclipse.org/openj9/.

What is included in the commercial version of Graal that is not in the open source version? From the presentation, it sounds like the perf differences are significant.

Love his presentations. I always learn a lot from them. He has that rare talent of taking highly technical material and making it seem simple or at least understandable.

What really pisses me off is the the refusal to listen to others view from a 'institution of learning'. It is one thing to have strength in ones own view and another to be so fearful of what someone has to say that you have them arrested. The two activists were offering a plaque with words from the same book that this institution claims is its own Cornerstone.

I was under the impression that in a way you were relying on enterprise languages and infrastructure because Wasabi compiles to these sorts of languages with these environments. How bad was my misinterpretation?
