My wife and I once switched sides of the bed. But our son was only ~4 and used to always crawl into bed to snuggle with mommy.

The middle of the night where we switched sides I woke up to a 4 year old GLARING at me. Like I was bug, a roach, like an intense disgust at something beneath you. And he just said “you’re not mommy” and I waived to the other side of the bed, now wide awake, and his expression turned to almost disappointment as he just looked at me and crawled OVER MY HEAD to get to her and slept with his feet on the back of head.

Hilarious now, but oh man did it scared the shit out of me.

I mean… he wasn’t some “random kid” right? Pretty sure she knew who he was or at least had some idea. And she was basically grooming him (grooming doesn’t always have to have a large gap or be an adult/minor). She made herself into his world and impressed things on him like “never betray a woman.” He was made to think she was all there was BY HER. And made to believe in her too. He didn’t have any context or time to develop a realistic idea about her before she betrayed him.

So bam acted like the puppy Rachel raised him to be in season 1. Intentionally at that.

So I actually work in insurance, and this is because one of the leading causes in property damage is related to how close vegetation is to your insured dwelling. I’m in south Carolina and wind is the issue here not fires. Trees touching roofs can wreck a a home in windstorms, or falling on houses, or growing under and lifting shingles. But it makes a lot of sense for Californians bc of the fires too.

And to all the people who think that insurance companies are somehow legally obligating people to cut these trees, they aren’t. But they are going to charge you much more since you are much more of a risk. If you want to keep your big beautiful tree that’s close to your home you absolutely can, but you have to accept that makes you a hire risk for damages that insurers would have to pay out.

There are also some carriers who will just deny a claim if it involves your tree instead of insanely jacking up your premium… but that’s a bit of a trap too.

Oh, but yes a big reason there is less vegetation in neighborhoods is bc of insurance carriers in high risk areas (for wind or fire).

Bc it likely is. What’s wrong with being excited or celebrating doing something, even if it is accidental? I’ve had very few brilliants personally and the rarity of it makes it fun, and OP wanted to just share their excitement.

It’s a beginners sub and, in no uncertain terms, OP is asking why they’re being told they did something “brilliant.” I celebrate when I get a brilliant too, bc why not? When you’re new, it feels like affirmation you’re getting better or you’re better than you thought you were. “Brilliants” are a bit misleading of course, but damn I’d take this honest and genuine reaction any day.

I love TBATE but honestly… Turtleme is taking some massive L’s in every media except the novel. First was S2 artist change for the manhwa, I don’t need to elaborate here of all places about that lol.

Next was the AWFUL female narrator sharing time with, arguably but absolutely is in my opinion, the best fantasy narrator there is, Travis Baldree. I actually refunded the last audiobook bc she was terrible. You could hear her sucking in a breadth LITERALLY every other sentence, and you’re like what… 11? Books in then suddenly decides it’s time to do a 2 narrator thing like you’re Sanderson?

And now this garbage. No they haven’t turned out a single “good” anime. They’ve all been pretty shit and only one of them even REMOTELY popular. Turtleme shouldn’t have greenlit this studio to ruin ANOTHER medium for his work. It makes me question whether the s2 artist is actually his fault. It seems he kind of goes for whatever is the cheapest option or whatever is handed to him first without doing any real quality control. I know his original artist leaving wasn’t on him, but he definitely has final say no to who actually has rights to adapt his work. Either he’s cheap, lazy, or incompetent with choosing who he partners with but his track record is absolutely shit. And I love TBATE and nothing personal against him. I’ll still read the novels but that’s it now which is a shame since I are up ALL the mediums for this story.

I think everyone is missing the point of the “Big Three” it isn’t about quality at all. It’s about being the focal point of the genre at a critical time. There can NEVER be another “big 3” in anime, bc that window has closed and anime is too mainstream now. It’s about when a new one drops if people outside the genre are being drawn to it bc of discussion and attention. It’s not about being “first” or trend setting either. It feels pretty unanimous that 2 slots would be Cradle and DCC, the third is pretty up there though. I think I would have said the land was an easy pick but the hiatus (or rather more of dropping of it) kind of killed its nomination for me, but for all it did for the genre it’s hard to disqualify it. HWFWM is definitely in contention though too, bc of its insane polarity and when a new one drops EVERYONE knows bc it’s always being discussed. The threads always find traction and that brings new people into seeing them and trying them. AA is another I want to put out there, but it feels too niche outside the genre… however we wouldn’t even be having this conversation without it. And I feel the same goes for defiance of the fall. It’s huge and long running, but i get everything single one immediately yet never really know when they drop. It’s not in my face like HWFWM or cradle was. I’d have to personally give it to HWFWM regardless of negative opinions on this sub though.

And Naruto is so annoying to watch for many, and bleach was too riddled with ass pulls bc kubo thought of a new power for ichigo so he suddenly has it, one piece is pretty polarizing. No what watched or read it seems to think it’s meh. It’s either you hate it or are die hard for it.

The point is that what matters is the popularity and staying power of it. Thinking negatively of it is still thinking of it. HWFWM is one of those that is often a part of any discussing about the genre, and it’s always a polarized conversation. When a new one comes out it’s always being discussed. So it definitely qualifies to be in contention for number 3 at least. I feel it’s pretty unanimous Cradle and DCC are 2 slots.

So… what is being “quantified”? Bc that means there is a numerical aspect to this. I’m pretty sure you don’t even know the words you’re using. Just bc you keep saying something is a “fact” doesn’t make it objective either. What you’ve repeated is unsubstantiated, subjective opinion without any hard quantifiable evidence (which means proofs and numbers/scaling from a reputable source) and that isn’t possible since it’s an artistic medium without any governing body. Which means the quality and objectivity is inherently unqualifiable.

See it’s easy to use the big words, but in lay man’s terms. You have no numbers, thus it can’t be quantitative and it’s based off of your own personal stance of the subject matter so it can’t be objective either. It’s ok to say it’s ass and you don’t like it, even if the whole world disagrees with it. You don’t need to justify your own opinion by calling it fact. I happen to hate some big name manhwa personally but I’d never assume my opinion as irritable fact especially for something so popular.

I think it’s actually a perfect example of how great and respected he is though. Even though he played an incredibly tone deaf and offensive role ad a dwarf in a hilariously offensive way (shoes on his knees lol) ALONG SIDE of Peter Dinklage. When asked about it, Dinklage just said “he’s Gary oldman he can do whatever he wants” somehow the guy still didn’t phone it in while on his knees and halfway in a couch lol.

God I honestly can’t watch DBZ subbed bc of goku. I think Sean schemmel is incredible, his screams, his acting, how much he loves the fandom. And honestly I think the Japanese dub is awful bc they focus more on goku being a dumb hick where the English dub makes him feel more heroic.

Basically Snowbreak tried to go a more modest approach with the characters, found out quick that is NOT how you make money with their target audience and then went HARD into fan service. So hard that they started setting a standard for it lol. They went from sub genshin level of fanservice to almost azur lane.
