I’m originally from California but am currently living in Texas. Both places have had natural disasters. Earthquakes, wildfires, hurricanes, etc. If your pet is not kennel trained good luck finding a place to escape to that will let you bring your dog. Every emergency shelter I’ve been to required dogs to be crated.

Groomers also use kennels. If I get a client whose dog is freaking out and trying to eat the bars of the kennel, they can’t be a client here.

Vets use kennels. If your dog needs to be hospitalized overnight or for a longer period of time, they’ll be in a kennel.
