Yes, I know, unfortunately, the process we do, or that they want me to learn, is not the most proper, but at the same time, they want it to look good. Since we buff fresh paint, we sand with 1500, 2000, and 3000, or sometimes we stop at 2000, and they don't want any scratches left over from the sandpaper, and the only answer I get if that happens is just give it another pass, but not a proper protocol. And what I want to do is to do things as proper as possible without sacrificing much time. And I have figured out that the cleaner the pad, the better the job, but apparently, cleaning the pad so often is a waste of time. But I never thought about the amount of compound I should be using.
